Redistricting InformationIn October 2011 the Elmbrook Schools Board of Eduction voted to close Hillside Elementary School due to the district's excess elementary capacity, declining enrollment and a budget shortfall.

A general timeline of key events is provided below to give parents and students information about the redistricting process. District and school staff will be working with parents to ensure a successful transition for impacted students and their families.

Elementary Teaching Staff Placements
In mid-March, elementary school teachers received their tentative school and grade level teaching assignments for the 2012-13 school year. The District is posting preliminary teaching staff rosters, as well as class sections and projected class sizes, to address concerns regarding two critical elements of the redistricting process: teacher placement and class sizes.

November 8, 2011 - Feedback sessions are held on redistricting scenarios
November 22, 2011 - Board of Education approves 2012-13 Redistricting Plan
November 23, 2011 - Elementary parents notified via Parentlink e-mail of redistricting decision and web site with detailed information
December 15, 2011 - All impacted families receive a letter confirming their placement for the 2012-2013 school year
January 31, 2012 - Kindergarten Open House held at 5 elementary schools for students considering enrolling in Kindergarten for the 2012-13 school year
March 30, 2012 - Teaching Assignments and Class Size Projections Announced for the 2012-2013 school year
May 9, 2012 - Open House night for for families transitioning to a new school (6:00pm-7:30pm)
May 31, 2012 - Preliminary Bus routes released to families
September, 2012 - School begins with 5 elementary schools (Brookfield Elementary, Burleigh, Dixon, Swanson, Tonawanda)
