The Brookfield Elementary Science Program

During the 2004-2005 school year, the School District of Elmbrook began a 2-year implementation of a new Science program called FOSS-Full Option Science System, funded by the National Science Foundation and developed at the Lawrence Hall of Science. FOSS modules begin with hands-on investigations, and then move students toward abstract ideas related to those investigations using simulations, models and readings. Below is a list of units that will be studied by grade level.

Along with FOSS, a variety of resources are being utilized by every classroom teacher to meet our state and national science standards.
