Becky Thomas - Occupational Therapist
Hi and welcome to my website. I am a full time occupational therapist at Burleigh Elementary School. When I sign my name on documents my name looks like this: Rebecca Thomas, MS, OTR. (Master's in Science, Occupational Therapist, Registered)
The kids however all know me as "Mrs. Becky"!
This school year, for the first time in the 14 years I've been at Burleigh, I will be the only O.T. at Burleigh. In previous years I worked full time with the Early Childhood through 2nd grades (downstairs) and another O.T. worked part time with older kids (upstairs). Due to a shift in some of our younger population, this year I'm working all over the building at Burleigh! This has been fun as I am getting reacquainted with kids I worked with a few years back (some I've worked with since they were 3 years old and are now in 5th grade!). I am also working with some homebound students (who do to medical reasons can not attend school), seeing some kids in their preschool and doing diagnostic (which means I work with birth-to-three therapists for transitioning new 3 year olds to Early Childhood).
All that being said - Welcome! Please click on the links below to find some fine motor ideas for working with younger kids at home. One of them is geared toward young pre-schoolers and one for the older pre-schooler to Kindergartener who is getting ready to, or is at the beginning writing stage. Also check out the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) links at the top of the page.

If you have any questions, I can be reached here at Burleigh at 262-781-5280 ext. 120 (I try to check my voice mail once a day, but sometimes its every other day) or e-mail me at thomasr@elmbrookschools.org (I DO check my e-mail daily as that is a primary means of communication between teachers, home, other therapists, departments etc.). Drop me a line and let me know what you would like to see on this site as I'm in the process of taking on this new and exciting means of communication.
