ITLS: What is it?

ITLS stands for Information & Technology Literacy Standards (or Skills). These are state standards that our students are expected to learn throughout the course of their public school education. ITLS classes in Elmbrook is a new approach to teaching students how to find and use information effectively and efficiently using print and non-print resources. The model that we will be using for this instruction is called the Big6™and you can find this on the back of the Library Media Center brochure or visit the Big6 website at http://big6.com/. ITLS also incorporates other uses of technology in both educational and real world settings. The ITLS team will be meeting with 4th and 5th grade classes once per week for 60 minutes to facilitate this learning. We want your child to be successful in our Information and Technology rich society.

If you have any questions regarding ITLS, please contact Mrs. Hoffman, our Library Media Specialist.
