Math Counts Club

The MATHCOUNTS Foundation is a math enrichment program that will send 4 students to compete as a team and 4 students to compete individually to a local competition in February, with the goal to proceed to the state competition in March.

If you have an enthusiasm for math and enjoy competing against other middle school students, then come and join the fun.  We will concentrate on enhancing the students' problem solving techniques and continue to develop their critical thinking skills.

This year students will be allowed to ride the homework club bus home from MATHCOUNTS.  It is the student's responsibility to sign up in the office to ride the bus home.  If a student is not taking the homework club bus home, a ride should be at PPMS no later than 4:00 p.m.

The local competition will be on Saturday, February 2, 2008 and the state competition will be on Saturday, March 1, 2008.  Please reserve these 2 dates on your calendar, as the top 8 students that score the most points at the school competition will be attending the local competition and hopefully the state competition as well.
