Children are expected to go directly home after school unless they are participating in a special activity and are under a teacher's supervision. We ask that you communicate with your child and your child's teacher (in writing via note, email, or fax) if it is necessary for your child to go somewhere other than home after school. We will need all transportation changes in writing, or your student will be sent home on their bus.
We will need any ride changes in writing from parents. Please send a note indicating ride or pick-up changes to your child's teacher.
The playground is not supervised before or after school.
If it is necessary for your child to stay after school with his/her teacher, your child or his/her teacher will call and make arrangements.
Lunch Hours:
The configuration of what grade level will eat and when will be announced in our first parent newsletter.
Early School Closings
When schools are closed after the start of the school day, the goal is to make the decision as soon as possible. Information about the closing of schools will be broadcast on local radio, TV stations and TV websites. Upon emergency dismissal, the procedure will be to place your child on his/her assigned bus. On-site after-school child care (YMCA) will not be operational when schools close.
All parents will also be required to provide the school with ONE telephone number on the Student Emergency Card that will be used to notify parents when school is closing early. Elementary schools, along with the assistance of PTO volunteers, will call the ONE telephone number listed on the Student Emergency Card as a courtesy call.
