The Brookfield East Forensics Team held a great tournament over spring break with 20 Schools and 137 entries competing between Congress and Speech! The Home Team won first place in Large Schools! Leading the team with Championship wins were Amoolya Mammual in Informative, Isabelle Perry in Moments in History, Eva Weckwerth and Renate Sweeney in Play Acting, Ambika Sundaresan in Prose and Jake Zheng in Radio. Second place wins went to Sammy Ring and Violet Diderrich (Play Acting) while Eithan Zhang (Extemp) and Johnny Chen (Informative) took third. Other Spartan finalists included Ananya Asokan (Expository), Mellynda Jia (Radio) and John Tsagalis (Storytelling).

Congress also represented well this weekend. In Chamber One, John Tsagalis placed 1st and was best PO and Mellynda Jia took 3rd place. In Chamber Two, Jake Zheng won 3rd place.

The Class of 2024 Friends of Fine Arts (FFA) Scholarship is now open to any seniors who have participated in any area(s) of the fine arts including Band, Choir, Drama, Forensics, Orchestra & Visual Arts.  The application will close on April 15th.

The Brookfield East Forensics Team brought home a 3rd Place Win in Medium Schools at the Sheboygan South Forensics Tournament with a third of the team going to the finals. Leading the team was Jake Zheng with his Championship win in Radio. A 2nd Place win was awarded to Sammy Ring and Violet Diderrich in Play Acting while 3rd Place went to Mahum Mir and Delaney Coffey (Group Interp) and Ambika Sundaresan (Prose). Other Spartans finalists included Noah Ren (Extemp), Amoolya Mammual (Informative), Isabelle Perry (Moments in History), Joshithal Senthil (Oratory) and Samika Sabesan (Solo Serious).

Congress also competed this weekend. In Chamber One, John Tsagalis placed 2nd and in Chamber 2, Johnny Chen placed 2nd.

The Senate Scholar Program is an intensive week-long educational program offered by the Wisconsin State Senate. Admission to the program is highly competitive and is limited to 33 academically exceptional high school juniors and seniors from around Wisconsin. Each Senate Scholar receives a hands-on, up-close view of the Legislature’s role in our democracy. 

Senate Scholars gain experience in such diverse areas as policy development, constituent relations, and processing legislation by working with Senators, legislative staff and University of Wisconsin faculty. Apply today!
