Brookfield Elementary PTO

The Brookfield Elementary Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is an independent school organization comprised of parents, teachers and administrators for the purpose of enhancing the educational environment of our students.

The Brookfield Elementary PTO is a very active parent group. The objectives of our organization are to facilitate communication between school and home and to provide services to the students and faculty. You are encouraged to offer your time and talents in some way this year. You will find volunteering to be an excellent opportunity to become better acquainted with other parents, faculty, staff and students. By merely being a parent of a Brookfield Elementary student, you are a part of the PTO. Make the most of this opportunity!

Volunteer Opportunities

The Brookfield Elementary PTO is very active in most areas of school life. The board consists of a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and five Directors. Under each Director are committee chairpeople who head the various PTO committees. You are encouraged to volunteer in any area that interests you. Please call one of the following board members if you are interested!

Fundraising Information

Brookfield Elementary PTO holds a variety of activities to raise funds to support our students, the school and our educational programs. This year the funds we raise will be given to the school to offer support in the following areas:

  • Faculty and Staff Mini Grants - Faculty and staff are able to apply for grants two times a year that directly benefit students.
  • Special Events - Support includes Spring Fling Carnival and High Interest Day workshops.
  • Hospitality - Support includes the Sunshine Fund, Teacher Appreciation events, and Meet & Greet.

Our major fundraisers to support these projects include:

  • Sally Foster Gift Wrap —This is our biggest fundraiser and it is held in early fall. Due to the great support of our BE families, we typically earn over $11,000 on an annual basis. Thank you!
  • Scholastic Book Fair — Held in October, the Book Fair raises general funds for the PTO.
  • We Care — Just stop by any area Pick 'n Save and fill out a simple form to designate Brookfield Elementary PTO as your recipient organization. You will receive a small Pick 'n Save card that can be attached to your key ring. Each time you shop, BE will receive 1% of your grocery receipts total.
  • Target — When you open a Target charge account, you can designate Brookfield El as the school of your choice. A percentage of your Target purchases are returned to our school.
  • Boston Store — Brookfield El will be participating in Boston Store's Community Day in November and March. We will be selling coupon books for $5 to BE families. Each booklet contains five "$10 off a $50 purchase" coupons. Multiple coupons can be used on higher priced items. What a great way to get savings on Christmas gifts, purchases for your home, etc. We raise funds by selling coupon books to BE families and by providing volunteers to help in the store on the day of the sale. A percentage of sales is returned to us!
  • Spring Fling Carnival — Held in May, this fun annual event also helps to raise funds for the PTO. The event includes carnival games, an ice cream social, a raffle, and a silent auction.
