Congrats to the 3 Fall 2017 Burleigh Lego League Jr teams, who competed in the Milwaukee FLL Jr Expo November 18th!

The Burleigh Water Skimmers (Jonathan B., Aylin C, Hannah Z., Neil M., Isaac B., and Zander K.) brought home the Artistic Eye award. The team used Lego motors and bricks to show how water flows to and from our houses in Brookfield. The model contained a water tower, house with plumbing and a bathroom, water treatment plant, pipe "Fix It" robot, and water pump with moving "water"!

The Burleigh Aquabots (Dylan D., Avi M., Caiden S., Maressa G.) brought home the Simply Awesome Machine award. In their design, the team created a 'water pusher' to move water from a source, a lake in the mountains, to use in a community park, containing a swimming pool, water slide, hot tub, and pet park. The model also contained a water pump, water treatment plant, and a machine called an Aquabot, used to clean and repair pipes.

The Burleigh Lego Lakers (Liam T., Harley R., Carter S., Yulina K., Sachin M., and Alise V.) brought home the Efficient Builders Award for using only the right amount of bricks to build their design. The team explored water usage at an outdoor water park. The problem investigated was how parks can conserve water, with the solution of filtering the water to reuse up to 97% of the original water. Using motor and gears, the team was able to animate a river raft ride and a mini diving board used by the LEGO figures.

Congrats to all teams!
