The following clubs are offered at Burleigh Elementary School:
LEAP (Leadership Education Achievement Program)
This is a collaborative program comprised of students from Brookfield East High School and Burleigh Elementary. These students form a partnership to develop positive leadership skills. Activities are designed by the high school students, along with teacher supervisors, and will focus on a variety of leadership, team building, and social skills.
Chess Club
This is as parent sponsored and run program which meets every Friday morning from 7:30 – 8:40am in the Burleigh school cafeteria. The goal of this program is to introduce the game of chess and teach the fundamental strategies. This club is open to any 1st through 5th grade student.
Foreign Language Lessons
Learn beginning French and Spanish through songs, games and cultural activities. These parent paid classes are held on varying mornings from 7:50 – 8:40am.
WBES News Club
Fifth grade students learn about news casting in a hands-on, interactive way. Students will be in front and behind the camera and will write and produce video programs that are broadcast over our closed circuit school network.
Knowledge Masters
Fourth & Fifth grade students work together before school to prepare for the Knowledge Master Open, which challenges students from all over the world in an academic competition.
Robotics Club
Fourth & Fifth grade students learn the basics of computer programming using LEGO Mindstorms Robotic components. Students program their robot to navigate through a variety of routines.
