The School District of Elmbrook is committed to a Curriculum Review Cycle updated to insure relevant, rigorous and aligned curriculum and instruction in every classroom in our district. The District is preparing to review the Human Growth and Development (HG&D) Curriculum during this school year 2017-18.

Purpose

  • To review the K-12 human growth and development curriculum
  • To advise the school board on the review and implementation of the human growth and development curriculum

Initial Request for Volunteers

District Seeks Volunteers for the Human Growth & Development Advisory Committee
The School District of Elmbrook is committed to a Curriculum Review Cycle updated to insure relevant, rigorous and aligned curriculum and instruction in every classroom in our district. The District is preparing to review the Human Growth and Development (HG&D) Curriculum during this school year (2017-18) and is seeking Other Resident Community Member volunteers to serve on the HG&D Advisory Committee. Per School of Elmbrook Board Policy 6142.3 the Advisory Committee shall have “Other Residents (3), selected randomly from applications recruited through local media who may include residents without children attending a district school.”

The work of the committee is set to begin during the Fall of 2017, pending Board approval. The main focus of the committee’s work is to review the district’s current, K-12 human growth and development learning objectives and recommend revisions (additions, deletions, combinations) that will promote the optimal health and well-being of our students.

Commitment of Service:
• Attend open meetings: Nov 7, 2017; Dec 12, 2017; and February 13, 2018 from 5:00-6:30pm
• Some outside of committee time to read, review, prepare for agenda topics
• Willing to commit to at least one year of membership or until the time the Board hears and approves the committee’s final recommendations
