Present:  Allgaier, Gehl, Jones, Marcello (arrived at 6:10), Wartman, and Ziegler
Also:       Gibson, Borch, Depka, Armato, and Kapocius
Absent:    Schwei

President Meg Wartman called the meeting to order at 6:02 p.m. Public notice of the meeting was provided in accordance with Chapter 19.85 Wis. Stats. Motion by Tom Gehl to approve the October 14, 2008 agenda. Seconded by Gary Jones and carried on a voice vote.

The Board discussed the following aspects of non-resident enrollment planning: 1) Budget concerns and property tax relief, 2) Impact of zero non-resident students on staffing and budget, 3) Impact of non-resident enrollment on special education, 4) Impact of non-resident students on student achievement measures, and 5) Diversity in our schools. The Board also discussed other questions relating to non-resident students in preparation for the October 28 Chapter 220 Planning Council of the Whole and Board actions to follow.

Motion by Bob Ziegler to adjourn the meeting. Seconded by Tom Gehl and carried on a voice vote. The meeting adjourned at 7:00 p.m.
