Brookfield East Earns Honor from ACT

Brookfield East High School has been named an ACT Red Quill Award winner for 2008. According to ACT, "The Red Quill Award was developed to honor educational professionals who recognize the need for diligent analysis of data and a willingness to develop and enhance curriculum and instruction based on learning community needs." As evidenced in the school's application, Brookfield East has "demonstrated a high level of dedication and focus through efforts to provide all students with exceptional opportunities to succeed."

Each year, ACT invites select public and private high school schools to apply for the Red Quill Award based on their students' performance on the Explore, PLAN and ACT examinations. Brookfield East's application, which detailed school improvement efforts over the past several years, was chosen as an example of "laudable success" as described by ACT.

Annually, ACT chooses 18 public or private high schools from its nine-state Midwest Region as Red Quill Award winners.

Congratulations to the faculty, staff, administration, parents, students, and community members of Brookfield East High School for their contributions to the school's continued success and for their work in earning Brookfield East this notable distinction.
