Boys Volleyball      2008 Schedule

Coach: Ken Nash

Dear Athletes,

Do you have in interest in volleyball or are you looking for a competitive, fast-paced Fall sport to play? If so, I encourage you to come out and see what the Brookfield Central High School Boys Volleyball Program has to offer.

My name is Ken Nash and I am the head coach of the BCHS Boys Volleyball team.  This will be my second year coaching at Brookfield Central; I have been personally playing volleyball for over fifteen years.  I am looking for players that are self motivated, aggressive, and have a positive attitude.  Incoming freshman have the potential to play on any one of the high school volleyball teams, including junior varsity and varsity.  However, if you haven't already learned the game of volleyball and honed your skills, do not worry.  The freshman level team is designed to bring those who are new to the game up to speed.  In addition, athletes who play a Winter sport (i.e basketball) may also want to consider participating on the team in order to maintain their conditioning in the off-season, increase their vertical, and have fun in a low-risk environment.

The season runs from the end of August until the end of October.  In fact, tryouts are held during the week beginning Monday, August 24th @ 9:00AM.  More information on the practice schedule will be coming out in the summer.  Before you can tryout and participate on the team, you are required to complete and return a Physical Examination card and pay Athletic user fees.  The required form and fee information can be obtained from the BCHS Athletics Office.

If you are interested in trying out for the team, I recommend that you participate in the summer camp that the BCHS coaching staff is running from July 21st through 25th from 5-7pm in the BCHS gym.  Attendance at this camp is not mandatory, but it does provide you with the chance to work on your volleyball skills (i.e. setting, passing, serving, hitting, blocking, and digging) prior to tryouts, work with players at all levels, and get to know the coaches and possible teammates prior to the commencement of the school year.  If you are interested please email me at the address below.

If you have any questions about the sport, the season, or the camp, please do not hesitate to email me at nashk@elmbrookschools.org.

Thanks,

Coach Nash.
