The Coca Cola Scholars Foundation Scholarship for seniors who have demonstrated leadership and academic achievement in school. Deadline is Oct. 31, 2008. Only online applications will be accepted at www.coca-colascholars.org
SAE Engineering Scholarships for seniors who are United States citizens and who intend to earn a degree in engineering or a related science. Students must meet minimum gpa requirements. Applications must be postmarked by December 1, 2008. Applications are available at http://www.sae.org
The 2008 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards for all students who have taken part in community service activities. Applications need to be turned in to Mr. Bowers by Oct. 31st, 2008. Please apply at http://www.prudential.com/scholars
The 2008 Horatio Alger Association Scholarship for seniors who have demonstrated integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity, who show strength of character, financial need, a good academic record, commitment to pursue a college education and a desire to contribute to society. Deadline for applications is October 30, 2008. Students must submit an online application at www.horatioalger.org/scholarships
Wendy's High School Heisman Award for all seniors who excel in academics, athletics and student leadership. Students must have a 'B' grade average and participate in at least one sport. Online applications are available at http://www.wendysheisman.comand must be completed by October 1st, 2008.
Washington University in St. Louis – Danforth Scholars. Washington University is seeking candidates for the Danforth Scholars Program who have exhibited a capacity for service, leadership and academic excellence. Please talk to your Guidance Counselor if you would like to be nominated. Application must be submitted by October 15, 2008.
Gates Millenium Scholars Apply at http://www.gmsp.org Eligibility: African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American or Hispanic American , a citizen, national or legal permanent resident of the United States , attained a cumulative high school GPA of 3.3 on an unweighted 4.0 scale or have earned a GED ,Will be enrolling for the first time at a U.S. accreditedcollege or university as a full-time, degree-seeking, first-year student in the fall 2009 , demonstrated leadership abilities through participation in community service, extracurricular, or other activities ,Meet the Federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria ,Have completed and submitted all three required forms (Nominee Personal Information form, Nominator form, and Recommender form) by the deadline , January 12, 2009.
