The following scholarship information is available in the CCRC:

Wisconsin Education Association CouncilThis scholarship is for seniors whose parent(s) qualify in one of the membership categories listed – an active WEAC member, an active retired member, a parent who died while holding a WEAC membership. The student must rank in the top 25% of their class or have a 3.0 gpa, plan to pursue an education major or minor and intend to teach in Wisconsin. Scholarship applications must be postmarked no later than February 20, 2009.

Waukesha Deputy Sheriff's Association Scholarship
For students who reside in Waukesha County and intend to further their education. Five $1,000 scholarships will be awarded. Application deadline is March 1, 2009.

Columbia College Young Authors
All High School Students are invited to submit Fiction, Creative nonfiction and Playwriting to Columbia College Chicago Fiction Writing Department by December 19, 2008. Details can be found at http://www.colum.edu/Academics/Fiction_Writing/YA/YA09

Badgerland Financial
Scholarship for graduating seniors who are pursuing studies in agriculture related field. Twenty $1,000 scholarships will be awarded. Application deadline is March 9, 2009. Application can be downloaded from www.badgerlandfinancial.com

The National CO-OP Scholarship Program- 75 merit co-op scholarships are awarded at cooperating colleges. Students can complete an application online at www.co-op.edu. All appllications are due by February 15, 2009.

UW Madison Actuarial Science Scholarship. – a scholarship of $2,000 per year for four years is available for study in actuarial science. Alverno College Scholarship Opportunities

U.S. Bank Internet Scholarship
Program for college bound seniors. Applications will be accepted through February 2009. Thirty $1,000 scholarships will be awarded.

Toyota Community Scholar Awards
One student will be nominated for this award. Students who have an outstanding academic record, are effective leaders and who have a well documented record of service both within and outside the school setting are encouraged to apply. Nomination forms are available in the CCRC and need to be turned in to Mrs. Kellenberger by November 14th, 2008.

National Multiple Sclerosis Society – Wisconsin Chapter
This scholarship is for Wisconsin students with multiple sclerosis , or anyone who is a child of someone with multiple sclerosis, who will be attending a post secondary school for the first time. Amount granted is between $1,000 and $3,000. Application form can be obtained from

Air Force ROTC
Air Force ROTC offers several types of scholarships for high school seniors. Scholarships can pay full tuition, money for books as well as a monthly stipend. Application deadline is December 1st, 2008. Applications can be obtained from

Wisconsin Professional Police Association Scholarship Program
For any Wisconsin or Upper Peninsula of Michigan resident enrolling in a college or voc/tech school seeking a 2 or 4 year degree in police science, criminal justice or a law enforcement related field which does not include law school. Deadline is Feb. 2nd,2009.

BigSun Scholarship
This is a $500 scholarship for all high school seniors who are athletes regardless of the sport they are participating in. Scholarship deadline is June 27th, 2009. Apply at

The following scholarship information is available in the CCRC:

Abbot and Fenner Essay Contest.

These scholarships are available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as any students currently registered in any accredited post secondary institution. Applicants must be between the ages of 16 and 30. Award value is $1,000. Check online at http://www.abbotandfenner.com/scholarships.htm

Elks National Foundation & Wisconsin Elks Association Scholarships Any high school senior who is a United States citizen is eligible. Applications can be downloaded from http://www.elks.org/enf/scholars . Applications must be filed with the Elks Lodge closest to the student's permanent address on or before January 9, 2009. 

McKelvey Foundation Entrepreneurial Scholarship

For young entrepreneurs who have owned a business for at least one year and would like to attend college. 60 scholarships of up to $10,000 per year will be awarded. Mental Floss Tuition Giveaway

This contest is open to legal residents of the United States who are 18 or older by Aug 15, 2009 and will be full time students pursuing an undergraduate degree. Contest ends January 31, 2009. October 6th , 2008 Announcement # 3

The following scholarship information is available in the CCRC:

American Legion - Americanism and Government Test Program.
Any student in grades 10,11 &12 in a Wisconsin school can participate. Test will be given during the week of Nov. 3- 7, 2008. Test will cover current events, Wisconsin and United States Government & History, County Government and the U.S. Flag. Please sign up in the CCRC if you would like to take this test.

American Legion Schneider Emanuel Scholarship
Applicant must be a son or daughter or grandchild of American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary or The Sons of The American Legion member. The student must also have participated in an American Legion sponsored activity. Deadline for application is March 1, 2009.

American Legion Oratorical Contest.
Log on to http://www.legion.org for dates, sites and deadline information. Students, grades 9-12, who are United States citizens or lawful permanent residents can participate.

United States Senate Youth Program.
Sponsored by the William Hearst Foundation and United States Senate for two high school students from each state to win an all expense paid trip to Washington and engage in a series of seminars and briefings with government officials. Winners also qualify for a $5,000 scholarship if they apply to college or university and pledge to take courses in government or related subjects. Applicant (Junior or Senior) must be serving or have served in an elected or selected capacity in government (student body or class), student council representative, or in a state level civic or educational organization. Please submit your application to Mrs. Kellenberger in the Guidance Office by October 16, 2008.

UW Madison -Wisconsin Alumni Association – Waukesha County Chapter
These are $1,500 awards given to deserving students graduating from accredited Waukesha County high schools in 2009. The student must attend UW Madison in the fall of 2009. Applications and instructions are available at uwalumni.com/waukesha. Applications must be postmarked by March 9, 2009.

Burger King Scholars Program.
These $1,000 scholarships are available to all eligible high school seniors. Log on to www.bk.com/scholars. Students do not have to be employed at Burger King. Applications will be accepted till February 2, 2009.

NFIB – Young Entrepreneurs Award
This scholarship is for high school seniors who are entering an accredited institution (2 or 4 year), who demonstrate entrepreneurial spirit and initiative as well as academic achievement. Waukesha County Medical Society "Grant-in –Aid" Program. Seniors must be from Waukesha County, entering a health related profession, and must be accepted at an accredited school in Wisconsin. Deadline is April 1, 2009.

Presidential Scholarship and Selected Scholarships for Outstanding First Year students.

 Waukesha County Kennel Club Scholarship.
Graduating seniors at Waukesha County High Schools can apply. Must plan to pursue a degree in the field of biologic science (veterinary medicine, genetics, biochemistry, marine biology, science education, forestry , agriculture) . Scholastic achievement as well as community standing will be considered. Application must be submitted by March 27, 2009.

The Foundation of the Wisconsin Automobile and Truck Dealers – Three types of scholarships are offered- Automotive, Diesel & Auto Collision. Application is available on www.watda.org . The application and testing deadline for all scholarships is December 15, 2008.

John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Essay Contest.

The Coca Cola Scholars Foundation Scholarship for seniors who have demonstrated leadership and academic achievement in school. Deadline is Oct. 31, 2008. Only online applications will be accepted at  www.coca-colascholars.org

SAE Engineering Scholarships for seniors who are United States citizens and who intend to earn a degree in engineering or a related science. Students must meet minimum gpa requirements. Applications must be postmarked by December 1, 2008. Applications are available at http://www.sae.org

The 2008 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards for all students who have taken part in community service activities. Applications need to be turned in to Mr. Bowers by Oct. 31st, 2008. Please apply at http://www.prudential.com/scholars

The 2008 Horatio Alger Association Scholarship for seniors who have demonstrated integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity, who show strength of character, financial need, a good academic record, commitment to pursue a college education and a desire to contribute to society. Washington University in St. Louis – Danforth Scholars. Washington University is seeking candidates for the Danforth Scholars Program who have exhibited a capacity for service, leadership and academic excellence.
