Freshmen Coaches

Head Freshmen

Luke Benish- This will be Coach Benish's first season coaching the freshmen squad. Last year he coached the 8th grade team for the Junior Lancer program. Coach Benish has experience at many levels of basketball including a year as a basketball Ops intern for the Charlotte Hornets and two years as a video coordinator for Marquette University's Men’s Basketball Program. When he's not coaching, he works as a manager for the Sherwin Williams Paint Company.

Assistant Freshmen Coach

Darryl Schnell- A 2002 Brookfield Central graduate and 2008 University of Wisconsin graduate in the field of journalism,Darryl Schnell brings his high school athletic experience back to his alma mater as the Freshman Assistant coach. Schnell was a three year letter winner in soccer, a team captain,and two time All-State midfielder for the lancers,helping the soccer team reach the State Playoffs in 2001.In basketball, Schnell was also a three year letter winner,reaching the State Playoffs each year on the varsity squad:2000, 2001, and 2002.Starting at guard each of his three seasons, Schnell was named All-Conference three times,First team twice, and also captained the team. Having never coached before, Schnell hopes to pass his knowledge on to the Freshmen Team, teach them to compete in a way he is familiar, and remind his players that basketball,tough difficult and intense,is still a fun game .
