Lancers bow out in first tourney game

7/18 - The evening started out very promising as Nate Ley's leadoff triple to right and Lee Severson's ground ball to second got BC out to an early 1-0 first inning lead.  Lee Severson's double in the third and Ryan Fletcher's RBI single gave Central a 2-0 lead heading into the fourth.  Hale proceeded to bunch everything into one inning with some well placed hits, combined with two BC error's, in getting all four of their runs of staff ace Al Tomter.  The 4-2 loss was disappointing to say the least as BC has now failed to get to sectional friday for the second straight year.  The stats and game results will not be updated until next week as the official scorecard is unavailable at this time.

7/14 - Arrowhead 7, BC 0
Oh yes it's Senior Night!

7/12 - Senior third-baseman Chad Okray wanted to make sure Senior night ended with a victory, as his scalded ground ball nipped the outer half of the bag at third for a 2RBI double in the bottom of the sixth that gave the Lancers the lead 4-3.  All of the Seniors pitched in to send the class out in style with a 8-3 win over Germantown.  In no particular order, (Seniors) Nate Ley finished with three hits, 2RBI's, a double, and closed the door in the seventh on the hill......Alex Tomter went 1-2 and worked a key walk in the six run sixth inning......Drew Peterson was a perfect 1-1 at the plate with a run scored.....Chad Okray had the key double mentioned above......Will Brammer's pinch hit RBI single in the sixth brought the house down......Josh Gohr made several nice running catches in the outfield, and we love the "Mick"......and Brent Severson's girlfriend sang the National Anthem before the game.  Sophomore Mike Bogard added a little underclassmen flavor for BC on the hill going six strong innings and yielding only one earned run in picking up the win.

Soggy Bottom Boys play well..

7/11 - It was a slow track on Tuesday evening for the Lancers final GM game of the season, and BC's mudders made the most of it, prevailing 5-3 over Brookfield East.  Junior Sam Voss didn't let the steady rain for most of the evening bother him in going 6 2/3 innings getting four strikeouts and securing his third conference win and fifth overall.  Nate Ley came on to record his second save of the season getting the last out.  At the plate, Ley, Alex Tomter and Ryan Fletcher all had two hit games.  Fletcher's three RBI's for the game now gives him a season total of 47!  Brent Severson also continued a torrid pace at the plate going 1-3 with an RBI.  Brent now has 11 hits in his last 18 at-bats raising his team leading average to .393.  The win gets the Lancers a finish above the .500 mark in conference play, 11-10.

Marquette 4, BC 3

7/10 - Check out all of the numbers for the game in the game results section.

Team Awards Picnic scheduled for Monday July 17th at McCoy Park 5:30pm.

Lancers seeded third in sectional

Here are the matchups:  In the top half of the bracket #8 Brookfield East will host #9 West Allis Central with the winner facing #1 Marquette.  The other game in the top half is #5 Tosa East at #4 New Berlin West.  In the Lower Bracket it will be #7 New Berlin Eisenhower hosting #10 Tosa West with the winner playing #2 Milwaukee Pius.  The other game will be #6 West Allis Hale at #3 Brookfield Central.

7/8 - Whitefish Bay 10, BC 5
Homestead 12, BC 1

Captains Honorably discharge Hamilton

7/7 - The frustration for the Lancer hitters boiled over in Friday's doubleheader sweep with Sussex resulting in 31 hits in two games with eight of them going for extra bases.  Co-captain Brent Severson used the twinbill to bolster some already impressive numbers on the season, with six hits in seven AB's, including a double, triple, and two-run homer(7 RBI's).  Co-captain Nate Ley won the first game on the hill with five stellar innings of work, striking out six Sussex hitters.  In the second game, Junior Sam Voss persevered through 6 1/3 innings on the bump, striking out four and pretty much stopped the bleeding after the second inning, in a 13-8 victory.  It was on all out offensive barrage with Nate Ley, Joe Rossman, Brent Severson, Josh Gohr, Co-captain Alex Tomter, Lee Severson, Ryan Fletcher, and Eric Gordon all having at least one multiple hit game.

Meltdown

7/6 - BC got an RBI triple by Ryan Fletcher in the first inning to take a 1-0 lead....that was all the highlights for the Lancers who have only managed three hits in two games.  The final result was an ugly 13-1 win for Tosa East.

Lancers shutout by Falls 3-0

7/5 - Al Tomter pitched well enough to win, but a two out double in the top of the seventh broke a 0-0 tie and proved to be the damaging blow.  Al struck out six Falls hitters and went the distance again.  BC could only manage two hits offensively and never really mounted a scoring threat.

The Answer my friend, was Bogey in the Wind

7/1 - Sophomore Mike Bogard stepped up to the plate with two outs and the score tied at two, and delivered a clutch RBI single, his second RBI on the day, into a stiff breeze to give the Lancers a 3-2 win over New Berlin West.  The hit was Bogey's third in the contest while Brent Severson, and Alex Tomter also had multiple hit games with two singles each.  Senior Drew Peterson had the other RBI with sizzling line drive single to center field.  On the hill Lee Severson started and went four strong innings, striking out four Viking hitters.  Senior co-captain Nate Ley came on in relief and threw three perfect innings in picking up the win for the Lancers.

Brent's blast powers BC to conference win!

6/30 - It's no secret the Lancer offense has been struggling in conference games with a .241 BA coming in.  Sometimes one swing is all it takes to rejuvenate the silent bats as senior co-captain Brent Severson sent a towering drive to right-center to give Central a 2-1 lead in the top of the sixth.  The Lancers proceeded to add three more runs to the tally with junior Tom Jenke's 2RBI double in the same inning a key blow as well.  Sophomore Mike Bogard started the scoring for Central with a ringing double to left-center to tie the score at one apiece.  In all, a lack luster offense showed signs of life with 10 hits on the evening.  Brent Severson, Josh Gohr, and Mike Bogard all had multiple hit games.  Not to be overlooked was the fabulous performance of senior co-captain Alex Tomter on the mound with two days rest.  Al was in control the entire game mixing his speeds and painting another "Picasso" in the typical Tomter fashion.  Al had five strikeouts in upping his conference record to 5-2, while lowering his conference ERA to 2.37.  The win keeps the Lancers in the hunt for second place in the League.

Waukesha Firecracker Tourney

6/30 - Waukesha North 10, BC 6
7/1 - BC 12, Milwaukee Lancers 8
7/4 - BC 11, Greendale 10

6/29 - Marquette 4, Central 3

Check out the game results for all of the action.

Who's the Voss!

6/28 - Junior RHP Sam Voss shut down the Brookfield East Spartans on Wednesday afternoon, in a brilliant display on the hill, striking out two and getting a complete game shutout.  Sam worked quick and went right at the East hitters in a game that lasted only 1hr, 32min.  Voss needed only 80 pitches and improved his conference ERA to 3.98.  At the plate the Lancers were opportunistic, getting all of their hits in the fourth, with a Brent Severson double, followed by a Ryan Fletcher RBI single, and a Josh Gohr RBI single.  Fletcher's RBI was his 35th on the year!

Success at Hamilton

6/27 - Al Tomter went six strong innings with five strikeouts in picking up the win for the Lancers.  The top four hitters did the damage for BC as Nate Ley, Ley Severson, Brent Severson, and Ryan Fletcher(2B, 4RBI's) all had two hits.  Josh Gohr also netted two RBI's for Central as the record improves to 6-6 in conference play.

Fox Cities Stadium

6/25 - The Lancers finished the three game circuit of Pro ball fields with another win, as BC pounded out 17 hits in a 16-7 win over New Berlin Eisenhower, at the home of the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers in Appleton, WI.  Lee Severson(3 RBI's), Mike Bogard, and Alex Tomter each had two hits in the contest, while Josh Gohr(2 RBI's), and Tom Jenke(4 RBI's) had three hits apeice.

Fox and Hounds

6/24 - The Lancers hitters got some much needed confidence with a nice performance on Saturday afternoon.  The sticks banged out 12 hits, four of them for extra bases in a 10-2 win over Shorewood.  Sam Voss, one of three pitchers for the game, got the win on the hill.  The Lancers now travel to play in the third professional venue of the season, a Sunday afternoon game at Fox Cities Stadium, home of the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (Class A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners).

"Al-Righty" then!!

6/23 - Senior Co-captain Al Tomter single handedly put the Lancer baseball team on his back and took care of business, beating the first place(South) Franklin Sabres by a score of 1-0.  BC was in desperate need for something positive, and Al provided the leadership to get BC back on the winning track.  Tomter needed 91 pitches to get the complete game win, adding five more strikeouts to his total.  Mike Bogard, and Chad Okray had the only hits for the Lancers, while Senior Josh Gohr drove in the winning run, a Sac fly to score Lee Severson in the third.

The Empire Strikes Back

6/22 - Despite hitting the ball on the nose all game long, BC could not find any holes and could only manage one run in a 4-1 loss to the Falls.  Mike Bogard handled the Falls hitters with relative ease, surrendering three earned runs and using only 74 pitches in going the distance.  Ryan Fletcher, and Nate Ley both had ringing doubles for the Lancers who need to find a way to turn the tide.

6/19 - South Milwaukee 13, BC 5

The score speaks for itself.

Big inning too much to overcome

6/18 - Oak Creek scored seven times with two outs in the bottom of the second inning and held off a late Lancer rally for a 7-4 final.  Al Tomter went the distance on the hill despite the rough second and stuck out four Knight hitters.  Lee Severson was perfect at the plate with a 3-3 performance including an RBI double, while brother Brent collected two hits and also doubled with an RBI.  The loss drops BC to 4-4 in the conference, and 13-10 overall.

Waukesha Wood Bat Tourney

Championship - 6/17 - Wisc. Rapids Rangers 10, BC 8
6/17 - Alan B. Shepard 3, BC 2
----------------------------------------------
Lancers 10, Germantown 2
6/16 - Freshman Ricky Leachy took the ball for the opening round game and calmly took care of business, showing command of his pitches and striking out eight Germantown hitters, in picking up the complete game win.  The offense showed some signs of life with eight hits.  Nate Ley had another multiple hit game adding a triple and  2RBI's to his numbers, and Mike Bogard also had two hits in the contest to go with an RBI.  Ryan Fletcher smoked a double to the gap in left center and collected four more RBI's to add to his team lead.
--------------------------------------------------
Lancers 2, Ocomomowoc Post #91 1
6/16 - Sophomore RHP Lee Severson pitched masterfully in the second round of the tourney, mixing speeds and utilizing both corners of the plate, in getting the complete game win.  Lee struck out three Oconomowoc hitters and did not walk a batter to get his second win of the season.  The Lancer hitters clutched up in the bottom of the sixth to get all the runs they would need.  Ryan Fletcher(RBI), Josh Gohr(R), and Eric Gordon(RBI) strung together three consecutive hits to get the Lancers the lead for good.

Lack of offense proves costly

In the last six conference games the Lancers are averaging a mediocre 3.16 runs per game, that number combined with poor defense left Central on the short end of 6-3 ballgame at Hale on Thursday.  Junior RHP Sam Voss again threw the ball well, showing command of his pitches and yielding only one earned run.

Bogey Night!

6/14 - Sophomore RHP Mike Bogard would not be denied of his second conference win of the year as Mike went the full nine innings for his third complete game of the year.  Bogey struck out five West Allis Central hitters and did not surrender an extra base hit in a 3-2 victory.  Senior Co-Captain Brent Severson sent the game into extras with a dramatic two out RBI single in the seventh.  Brent was perfect at the plate garnering three hits in as many AB's to go with the RBI.  Junior Ryan Fletcher also stung the ball with two doubles to go with an RBI.  The win helps the Lancers keep pace with the leaders in the GMC North with a 4-2 mark.

Miller Park

Lancers 13, Waukesha South 6

Ley, Tomter step up big!

6/12 - Senior Co-Captain and leadoff man Nate Ley scored the first run of the game and drove in two which proved to be the game winners with a long double to deep left-center in the second.  Ley has now hit safely in all but one of the Lancers contests this year, and has multiple hits in 9 of the last 11 games, raising his overall average to an even .500.  On the hump, Senior Co-Captian Alex Tomter continued to pitch like the veteran the Lancers have come to count on in the clutch.  Tomter went the distance, striking out five and working himself out of tight spots with big pitches and a pickoff in the top of the seventh to help seal the 3-2 win over arch-rival Menomonee Falls.  The win helps the Lancers improve the conference mark to 3-2, as BC now heads to Miller Park to play Waukesha South in a non-conference game at 2pm.  Admission is free and spectators can use the gates right behind home plate to enter the park.

6/10 - Hartland Arrowhead 11, BC 3
Nicolet 7, BC 3

Bogey lifts the Lancers!

6/9 - Sophomore RHP Mike Bogard stepped up big when Central needed him most with a brilliant performance on the hill.  Mike mixed his pitches masterfully only yeilding three hits, and striking out five Muskego hitters in a 5-2 victory.  Chad Okray had two hits and a run scored, while Brent Severson clubbed a low fastball high off the fense in left-center giving the Lancers some much needed breathing room in the fifth.  Oh yeah, Nate Ley had a routine two hit evening with a run scored and an RBI.  Central will now try to get a pair of Non-cons, as they host Hartland Arrowhead, and Nicolet on Saturday afternoon.

Lancers fail to execute

6/8 - Central found itself in great position to win it's second conference game on Thursday night, but could not plate a run after loading the bases with nobody out in the bottom of the sixth.  Jeff Donovan for Tosa East single handedly won the ballgame, going the distance on the hill as well as a 2-3 performance at the plate, with a double, a home run and 3 RBI's.  For Central Nate Ley was perfect at the plate going 2-2, and Junior catcher Eric Gordon had a double to go with two hits.

BC stumbles against Brookfield East

6/2 - The Lancers dropped a tough one to the other team in Brookfield, losing 3-2 in eight innings.  Mike Bogard went the distance on the hill for Central, and gave the Lancers a gutsy performance without his best stuff.  The Central hitters will have to pick up the pace offensively as they could only muster four singles in the contest.  The Lancers will now take a brief hiatus for final exams and get back to business against Tosa East on Thursday at McCoy Park.

Lancers coast by Mukwonago

6/1 - It was a lackluster performance by the Central baseball team at McCoy Park, as the Lancers barely escaped a gritty Indians team by a 4-3 final.  Pitcher Eric Gordon had just enough to keep the Mukwonago bats quiet, relinquishing four hits and fanning four Indian hitters in picking up the win.  Chad Okray came on for the save, closing out the final 1 2/3 innings.  Lee Severson led the Central hitters with a 3-4 performance including a double, while Nate Ley was at it again with another multiple hit game, his fifth in nine contests.  With the win the Lancers improve their record to 7-2 on the year.

BC over the Toppers 7-4!

5/31 - The Lancers started the GMC slate with an impressive win over Marquette, a game in which Central lead the entire way.  Senior Al Tomter went the distance on the hill for his second complete game in as many starts, scattering seven hits and keeping the Hilltoppers off balance all night.  The Lancer sticks are starting to wake up as Josh Gohr, Ryan Fletcher, and Lee Severson all had extra base hits.  Nate Ley continued his torrid pace at the plate going 2-3 with three runs scored.  Central now returns home for a non-conference game against Mukwonago.

Follow the "Ley-der"!!

5/29 - Senior Co-captain Nate Ley did everything except sell popcorn at the Metrodome in Minneapolis on Memorial Day.  The center-fielder went 4-4 with a double, and an inside-the-park home run to go with three runs scored, and two RBI's, in a 13-3 win over Pewaukee.  On the hill, Junior right-hander Sam Voss looked very impressive, pitching a complete game five-hitter, with eight strikeouts in picking up his first win of the year.  Senior Josh Gohr also contributed at the plate with a solid performance going 2-3 with three RBI's, while Mike Bogard also had two hits for the Lancers.

Central could not get the sweep at the Dome as they saw a 3-2 advantage disappear in the bottom of the fifth.  Junior Ryan Fletcher's clutch two out, 2RBI single in the top of the fifth put the Lancers up by one, but Ashland came back and prevailed 8-3.  Central now turns it's attention to Greater Metro Conference play this week after starting the season 5-2.

Central settles for third place

5/27 - After a disappointing 6-4 loss to West Bend East in the semifinal game, the Lancers came back in big way, disposing of Campbellsport 15-1 in the the consolation game.  Central now makes it's annual pilgrimage to the Metrodome in Minneapolis for a Memorial Day double dip.  Check out the game results page for all of the info. on the West Bend Tourney.

Lancers edge Oak Creek 4-3

5/26 - Central played an inspiring brand of baseball in the opening round game of the West Bend Tourney on Friday night.  Despite managing only two hits, the Lancers were opportunistic in plating four runs in the first two frames.  Mike Bogard looked solid in his first start of the young season, pitching into the sixth inning, scattering four hits and striking out four in picking up the win.  Al Tomter was at it again, putting the final two innings in the books, and extinguishing Oak Creek's final attempts at a comeback.  Nate Ley led off the game with a ringing double to left-center, and scored two of the Lancers four runs.  Eric Gordon notched the other hit(RBI) for Central.  With the win, the Lancers advance to the second round winners bracket and play West Bend East in a 1pm contest.

Peterson, L. Severson, put one in the icebox for Central

5/24 - Senior Drew Peterson broke open a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the sixth inning with a one out double to give the Lancers the lead for good in a 4-1 victory.  Lee Severson came on in relief and pitched three strong innings striking out six and walking two, while earning the win.  Sophomore Mike Bogard continued his torrid start at the plate with his second consecutive multi-hit game, and also drove in two of the Lancers four runs.  Lee Severson also had two hits, while Chad Okray(2B), Eric Gordon(RBI), and Nate Ley each had one hit.  Junior RHP Sam Voss was impressive in his varsity debut scattering four hits over four innings of work and striking out five.  The Lancers next stop is the West Bend Tournament where they will face Oak Creek on Friday night with the opening pitch scheduled for 7pm.

Al-a-palooza!!

It was a festive atmosphere for the opener at McCoy Park, and Senior Co-Captain Alex Tomter made sure the outcome was a joyous one for the Lancers.  Al went the distance on the hill, earning the complete game shutout, scattering three hits and striking out two, in the 10-0 win against the Whitnall Falcons.  Offensively, Nate Ley garnered two hits and Mike Bogard stroked two doubles to go with two runs scored.  Ryan Fletcher also had a double to go with three RBI's.  Chad Okray, and Josh Gohr also smoked doubles for the victorious Lancers.  Central will now host Wauwatosa West tomorrow for a 5:30pm non-conference tilt.
