Course Description

The required program is designed to address four district educational goals. They are:

1) To develop and maintain a high level of physical fitness,

2) To develop a variety of psychomotor skills,

3) To develop a knowledge and understanding of physical education, and

4) To develop positive attitudes and behaviors.

These goals are pursued through a variety of games and skill building opportunities intended to improve students' cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, flexibility and agility. As students progress through the required program they have the opportunity to assess their individual growth and strive toward improvement.

Continue to challenge students to achieve and maintain a health-enhancing level of physical fitness.

Continue to demonstrate and understand respect for differences among people in a physical activity setting.
