2007-08 ACI Committee Goals:

  • Review and provide feedback to schools based on their School Improvement Plans.
  • Monitor and provide feedback for development and implementation of grading and reporting practices.
  • Support Baldrige implementation, monitor Baldrige efforts, and provide direction to the Deployment Team.
  • Identify and review data that measure school and District efforts.

Relationship to Broad Strategic Initiatives 4-Continuous Improvement and 1-Student/school performance, and Baldrige Categories 4-Measurement and 7-Results



Policy 9416 - Assessment and Continuous Improvement Committee
(Policy Reference 9401)

The committee shall consist of three members of the Board of Education and shall promote implementation of the mission and vision of the District through supporting the identification and implementation of continuous improvement processes in all areas of the District, with an emphasis on those aspects that have the greatest impact on student achievement.  The duties of the Assessment and Continuous Improvement Committee shall be:

1.  To review and guide continuous improvement processes in all areas
     of the District

2.  To develop and monitor short and long-range continuous improvement
     goals including:

a.  Review of best practices to improve teaching and learning and
     to recommend staff and student development in such practices.
b.  Being familiar with District student achievement and program
     performance indicators and reviewing such indicators to ensure
     alignment with assessments and instructional practice.
c.  Review best practices for obtaining and analyzing data to inform
     decisions.

 
3.  To review systems for managing and communicating student
     achievement and program performance data.

4.  To analyze student performance and program performance data,
     in collaboration with key stakeholders, acknowledging strengths
     and making recommendations for improvement as appropriate.

5.  To benchmark student achievement and program performance
     data and continuous improvement strategies with other districts.

6.  To complete annual committee goals as assigned by the Board.

7.  To consider any other assessment matters as determined by
     the committee or assigned by the Board.
