Painting I

Prerequisite(s):  Drawing and Design

Grade Level(s):  10-12

Painting is an opportunity for students who have had successful drawing and design experiences.  Painting students will implement what they have learned in previous classes by using color media.  Materials may include acrylics, watercolor, pastels, or colored pencils.  Students will analyze how shadows and highlights create form.  They will use perspective to create the illusion of space.  Color theory will help students to mix and produce color variations that will add depth and excitement to their work.  Painters will complete pleasing compositions through creative problem solving.
