 Just Not our Day
7/25 - It seemed as though if there was ever a year a trip to the state tournament was fated, this was the year, however a tremendous season came to an end with a 6-1 loss to Menomonee Falls on Friday afternoon. Falls pitching tied up the Lancers for most of the contest, and when the ball was hit on the screws it was right at someone. Several breaks and infield bounces did not go the Lancers way on this day and that's the nature of the tournament, one and done. Congratulations go out to the boys for a regular season tournament title, a GMC conference title, and a season that tallied 28 wins!

7/22 - The Lancers were at the top of their game in the WIAA Regional final on Thurday evening as BC pounded out 13 hits and scored 16 runs while allowing Pewaukee only one hit in getting the shutout. Mike Bogard, Ricky Leachy, and Mike Mierow all pitched in the five inning game and silenced the Pirates hitters. Freshman Ryan Hinz stepped up when the Lancers needed him most, as "Hinzie" drove in seven runs on the evening with the big plate appearances bieng a 2-run single in the second, and a three-run triple in the third. Leachy(3-3), and Lee Severson(2-2) were perfect at the plate while Bogard(2-3) also had a multiple hit game. The Lancers now move on to Sectional Friday, where BC will play conference rival Menomonee Falls in the Sectional Semi-final at Hartland Arrowhead with the game scheduled for 11am. With the win, BC improves to 28-10 on the season.
 Ross the Boss
7/18 - Junior RHP Cale Ross continued his recent string of quality starts on Friday evening, this time going six strong innings and striking out eight Indian hitters in a 6-3 win over Mukwonago. Ross who has averaged more than a strikeout per inning in all but one of his starts this season notched his fifth win of the year. At the plate it was sophomore Mike Mierow who was a perfect 4-4 during the contest, and Ricky Leachy who scorched the ball all four times deserved four hits but settled for two. The win improves the Lancers overall season record to 27-10.
Lancers play a bit offensive and still Win
7/17 - It was not an appealing game of baseball to watch on Thursday evening in Sheboygan, but the Lancers managed to put together a 10-run seventh inning and win going away 16-9. Freshman Ryan Hinz pitched five innings and struck out two in getting the win, while Junior Matt Upson came on for 1 2/3 of perfect relief. Senior Alex Cain made his debut on the mound, and although we did not see his famous "wing-ding" he did record an out. Mike Rossmiller, Tim Peterson, and Ricky Leachy(3 RBI's) all had multiple hit games for the Lancers. Junior Pete Ostergaard continued his torrid season with three hits including a double, triple, and five RBI's.
Team Awards Picnic is Thursday, July 24th @ McCoy Park, 5pm for ALL LEVELS

Oh yes, it's SENIOR night!
7/16 - The Seniors were on display at McCoy park on Wednesday evening as they delivered just enough offense to get by Plymouth by a score of 2-1. Lee Severson had a double at the plate and recorded the save on the mound, Mike Bogard had two hits including a triple and some good defense, Paul Copoulos had two hits including what proved to be the game winner in the bottom of the sixth, Billy Nelson had a hit at the plate and as always played a stellar second base, Alex Cain had a catch in right and what can you say about Cain, he just looks good out there....and to round out the seniors, Darius Holman ran down a deep drive in center to get the all important first out of the seventh inning. I guess we have to mention sophomore Mike Mierow who went 6 1/3 on the hill, recording five strikeouts and getting the win for the Lancers.

 Champs!!
7/15 - That's right, the resilient Lancers completed the arduous task of coming from behind all year in the standings after a 1-3 start in league play, only to find themselves on top at the end! The celebration could not start until about a half hour after the BC win over the Falls when Hamilton defeated Marquette in extra innings and ensured the Lancers would finish with at least a share of the Greater Metro North crown! Mike Bogard was determined as always to find a way to win on the hill without his best stuff, going the distance and striking out three Indians. Bogard, Ricky Leachy, Mike Mierow, and Paul Copoulos all had multiple hit games for the Lancers, with Mierow's two-out, two-run double being the key blow in a three run third inning. Bogard(3B) and Leachy also had two-out RBI's in the fourth, fueling BC's run production. It is Senior Night tomorrow at McCoy Park when the Lancers will take on Plymouth in a non-conference game. BC finishes conference play with a 15-6 mark.
 GENESIS.. In the Big Inning!
7/14 - The Lancers bunched all the action into a six run fifth inning with Lee Severson, Ricky Leachy, and Pete Ostergaard all coming through with two-run singles, as BC held on for a 6-4 victory over Menomonee Falls. Leachy went six innings on the hill for the win before turning things over to Lee Severson who came on to record the save. The Lancers return home tomorrow evening for the final Greater Metro conference game of the season.

 Sultans of Sultry..(Lou)
7/11 - The Lancers stayed in the hunt for the GM North Title on Friday evening with a 7-1 win over the cross town rival Spartans. Mike Bogard pitched five strong on the hill, notching 8 more strikeouts, and getting his sixth conference win. Lee Severson came on to record scoreless innings in the sixth and seventh to seal the deal. Ricky Leachy, Pete Ostergaard, and Ryan Hinz all had multiple hit games for BC, with Hinz knocking in three runs for the Lancers. Mike Mierow also collected three RBI's for BC which improved to 13-6 in the GM North Division. The Lancers will now travel to New Berlin Eisenhower tomorrow morning and play an 11am non-conference game.
Lancers beat the Spartans and the Storm Clouds
7/10 - The thunderstorm hit after 4 1/2 innings were in the books giving the Lancers a rain shortened 3-1 victory at McCoy park on Thursday evening. Cale Ross turned in another impressive performance on the hill going five complete and recording five strikeouts against one walk for the victory. Ricky Leachy and Pete Ostergaard both had a hit and an RBI for the Lancers, and Tim Peterson also added a knock. BC goes to Brookfield East tomorrow evening to finish out the series.

 Lancers Dodge the Rams
7/8 - BC pulled one right out of the fire as Ricky Leachy stepped to the plate with two out and two on in the top of the seventh, with the Lancers down one. The Junior hit a towering fly ball to the wall in left center for what turned out to be a game winning 2RBI double in a 5-4 win over Marquette. Leachy hurled five strong innings for the Lancers and Lee Severson came on to nail down the win on the mound. Pete Ostergaard and Severson also had RBI's for BC, and Mike Bogard's 18 game hitting streak came to end. With the win, BC improves to 11-6 in the GM, and 20-10 overall.
 Stranded....
7/7 - The Lancer runners found themselves stalled on the basepaths most of the night as BC left 19 runners on base during the contest. Lee Severson was the only Lancer to step up with a clutch two-out 2 RBI single in the second for the only RBI's of the game. Defense again proved to be the achilles heel for BC as an unearned run in the seventh held up in a 4-3 Marquette win. Matt Upson had three hits in the contest and Severson collected two.
Lancers get the #4 seed.
BC will host Pewaukee in the regional final game on Tuesday, July 22nd at 5:30pm. Here is how the Sectional breaks down:
#1 Menomonee Falls vs. #8 Brookfield East #4 Brookfield Central vs. #5 Pewaukee
#3 Arrowhead vs. #6 Germantown #2 Hamilton vs. #7 Slinger
AthleticLEE!
7/3 - Lee Severson's athletic prowess was on full display Thursday evening at McCoy park in Brookfield. The Senior Captain played all nine positions in the field, had a leadoff double at the plate, and picked up the save on the mound. It truly was amazing to watch Lee go from position to position with ease, and even more impressive was the inning in which he crouched behind the plate and looked like he had been cathing all season long. The Lancers picked up the win against Tosa West 4-1 behind the starting pitching of Cale Ross, who went five strong and struck out 11 of the 16 batters he faced. Senior Captain Mike Bogard continued his torrid season at the plate going 2-2 with two runs scored, and Junior Matt Gordon also went 2-2 on the evening. The Lancers will take this year's Fourth of July weekend off, and return home for a conference game with Marquette on Monday evening.
 Behind enemy lines....
Preps on the net article from the game http://prepsonthenet.com/newsreader.aspx?article=1579
7/1 - The Lancers have been their own worst enemy of late as another game slipped away after allowing more unearned runs than earned runs for the second consecutive night, as BC lost 5-2 to Sussex. Of the 12 runs allowed in the last two games only three have crossed the plate without being gift wrapped. For the second consecutive evening 11 Sussex hitters went down via the strikeout, this time it was Ricky Leachy making the Chargers bats miss. However nine hits by the opposition were too much too overcome. Offensively, although only two Lancers went down swinging, the team could only manage five hits. Lee Severson had the only multiple hit evening with a leadoff triple in the first and a single to left in the seventh. The loss drops the Lancers conference mark to 10-5, with the overall record at 18-9. Wauwatosa West comes to McCoy on Thursday for a 5:30pm non-conference game.

Lancers can never use enough T.P.
6/30 - In a wild game that had many swings and momentum changes, Sophomore Tim Peterson stepped up when the Lancers needed it most. Tim drove a one out single to right-center to break open a 2-2 tie with two RBI's in the fourth and followed with a single in the fifth, but what might have been the play of the game, Peterson ranged to his left and made a tough play in the seventh to record the ever-important first out of the inning and keep the tying run off the base paths in the top of the seventh. Mike Bogard was the victim of poor defensive play and some bad bounces, as Bogey once again gutted through and would not allow the Lancers to lose. Mike struck out 11 Chargers in the 9-7 win as he went the distance throwing 128 pitches, many more than he should have needed to. The BC offense came to life with 12 hits, Bogard(2B), Mike Mierow(2B), Paul Copoulos, and Tim Peterson all had multiple hit evenings. The win was big as the Lancers stayed in the chase for the G.M. North title. The two squads will go at it again tomorrow in Sussex at 5:30pm.

Late Knights catch up to Lancers
6/28 - It was deadlocked at two heading into the fifth when the game turned in Nicolet's favor with the Knights scoring five runs after two were out, the result was a 9-3 loss for BC. Junior Cale Ross pitched well in the loss, striking out eight in 5 1/3 innings of work. Pete Ostergaard was at it again at the plate adding two more hits as well as two RBI's to lead the offensive attack for BC. Pete has now hit in eight straight games, with the last three being multiple hit games. Lee Severson was 1-2 with two runs scored and Junior Matt Upson added a two base hit.
Mudders Day in June?
6/27 - The skies opened up and doused McCoy field, creating a rather sloppy track on Friday night as the Lancers ousted Port Washington 11-1. Sophomore Mike Mierow went all five innings for the Lancers, striking out four Pitates and scattering four hits in getting the win. Junior Pete Ostergaard had the only multiple hit game, adding a double and two RBI's. Sophomore Tim Peterson also added a double and two runs scored for BC.

The Termin "8" er is Baaaack
6/24 - Ricky Leachy was a welcome sight back on the hill and in the starting lineup on Wednesday evening as the Junior cruised to his second victory of the year. Leachy only surrendered one hit in five innings of shutout ball for BC, as the Lancers only needed five innings to get the 10-0 victory over Muskego. Junior Pete Ostergaard had a double and three hits to go with three RBI's to lead the Lancers at the plate, while Mike Bogard collected three RBI's of his own with his double and two hits. The Lancers upped their conference mark to 9-4, and 16-7 overall with the win. After an off day tomorrow, BC will host Port Washington on Friday evening at McCoy Park.

Good to be Home!
6/24 - The Lancers returned home to McCoy Park on Tuesday evening for the first time since June 6th, because of flood waters from the fox river, and made the most of the homecoming with a 5-2 win over Tosa East. Mike Bogard tallied another win on the hill, going the distance and striking out eight Red Raiders. Bogard also led the charge at the plate with the only multiple hit day as Mike extended his hitting streak to 12 straight games. Freshman Ryan Hinz continues to impress with another RBI double in the fifth. The Lancers will complete the conference slate this week when Muskego comes to town tomorrow for a 5:30pm contest.

Lancers Streak Grounds out..
6/23 - Although BC outhit it's opponent 5 to 1, most of the hits came after two were out and the Lancers could not generate enough offense to win a game they should have. Cale Ross went six strong innings on the hill striking out six while walking two. Ryan Hinz's clutch two out single in the sixth appeared to pull the Lancers even with Tosa, but a questionable call at the plate kept BC one behind. Pete Ostergaard, and Jack Moro both hit doubles for the Lancers in a game which snapped BC's eleven game winning streak. Both teams go at it once more tomorrow, this time at McCoy Park in Brookfield.

Lancers dont Break the Chain, Win 2 at Wood Bat Tourney
6/22 - BC continued it's winning ways on Saturday with a pair of victories over Oak Creek and Waukesha South to claim the 2008 Blackshirt Wood Bat Tournament Title. The wood bats did not hinder the offense in any way as the Lancers plated nine runs in each contest and banged out 26 hits in the two games. BC will now focus on conference play as they will travel to Breitlow field to take on Tosa East at 5:30pm on Monday.
Lancers Underclassmen, Man up for Victory!
6/19 - It was Sophomore Mike Mierow going the distance on the hill and Freshman Ryan Hinz getting two key hits at the plate that propelled the Lancers to their ninth staight win on Thursday evening in West Allis. Mierow settled down after a rocky first inning and did not allow the Huskies to score the rest of the way as Mike scattered eight hits and struck out five in getting the win. Mike also worked his way out of a tough jam with runners on second and third in the bottom of the sixth with one out, getting a key strike out and ground out to deny West Allis Hale the opportunity to get back in the game. Freshman Ryan Hinz continues to impress at the plate with three more hits including an RBI double in the fourth and the go-ahead clutch RBI single up the middle in the sixth. Junior Pete Ostergaard had a game tying two-RBI triple in the sixth as well, and topped it off with an RBI single in the seventh. Finally, Junior Matt Gordon stepped up with a two RBI double in the six run sixth inning as well, to give the Lancers some breathing room. BC upped it's record to 7-3 in the GM and is now 12-6 overall. The Lancers will now compete in the Waukesha Wood Bat Tournament on Saturday with a game vs. Oak Creek at Waukesha West's diamond at high Noon. The Lancers will play at 3pm with a loss and 6pm with a win.

Lancers Collar the Dawgs!
6/17 - The Lancers made it eight straight wins on Tuesday evening as BC crawled by West Allis Central by a score of 7-2. Cale Ross went four strong innings and struck out six Bulldog hitters in getting the win. Lee Severson came on in the fifth and carried the Lancers to victory the rest of the way as Severson struck out four hitters in three innings of work. Mike Bogard continued his torrid pace at the plate with four hits including two doubles and two RBI's. Darius Holman contributed with two hits and two RBI's of his own, while Billy Nelson and Freshman Ryan Hinz also chipped in with two hits each. BC will return to conference play on Thursday when they travel back to Belich Field in West Allis to take on the Huskies of West Allis Hale.
Bogard Stars as "The Enforcer"
6/16 - It's just good to have Mike Bogard on your side these days. For the second consecutive week "Bogy" is the Journal/Sentinel player of the week, and the Senior captain did nothing but give himself a chance for a third consecutive week for the honor with his complete game win over Franklin on Monday evening. Mike struck out nine Franklin hitters and did not allow a walk in the contest, as the Lancers won their seventh consecutive ballgame by a score of 5-2. Sophomore Mike Mierow(2B), and Junior Pete Ostergaard both had three hits and an RBI, while captain Lee Severson chipped in with two hits and an RBI of his own at the plate. BC raised it's record to 5-3 in the GM, and 10-6 overall.

Lancers Race 2 Sweep at Elkhart
6/14 - The Lancers started slow but came on strong to dominate both games in a twinbill at Elkhart Lake on Saturday. All three phases of the game were played very soundly as BC got to break out the lumber as Elkhart plays in a conference that only allows wood bats. There were too many outstanding performances in the doubleheader to list here, but by all means check out the box scores in the game log. The Lancers return to conference play with a scheduled game against Franklin. The location of the game is uncertain at this time but will be posted by noon on Monday.

Lancers Blast off against the Rockets!
6/13 - The BC bats awoke in a big way on Friday evening at Wirth Park with seven different Lancers collecting hits and six getting at least one RBI. Lee Severson, Mike Bogard, and Mike Mierow each garnered two hits, while Severson, and Pete Ostergaard bagged up with four RBI's each. Matt Upson notched three RBI's of his own in the fourth with a double to the left-center field wall, and Bogard collected two RBI's with his triple to the gap in right-center. Not to be overlooked was the pitching performance of Junior Cale Ross, he went all five innings, struck out six and only allowed one free pass. The result was a 16-1 run rule five inning win over South Milwaukee. The Lancers improved their overall record to 7-6, and upped the conference mark to 4-3.

Lancers Reign over the Black Knights
6/12 - The Lancers Mike Bogard took the hill on Thusday night and continued his streak of quality starts, going the distance and notching the win against an outstanding team from Oak Creek. Bogy only used 89 pitches and struck out three while only walking one hitter to improve his record to 3-2 on the year. Bogard also collected two hits at the plate and drove in a run, leading the six hit attack. Lee Severson added a double and a run scored, but the two key hits were a couple of two out RBI singles in the 3rd and 7th innings by Mike Mierow and Paul Copoulos. BC will now play the scheduled home game tomorrow at Wirth Park.
*Schedule Change* Friday, June 13th vs. South Milwaukee at Wirth Park in Brookfield - 5:30pm

Rockford Files
6/7 - The Lancers made the most of the trip to Rockford, IL on Saturday afternoon and powered their way to a 12-1 win over Pewaukee. Mike Bogard continued his torrid pitching of late, limiting the Pirates to four hits while striking out four in getting the win. The BC bats came to life in a big way as the Lancers pounded out 13 hits in the contest. Bogard led the charge with three hits, but Junior Mike Mierow was the offensive leader, busting out with a ringing double and a line-shot home run right down the left field line, as Mierow bagged up with five RBI's on the day. Jack Moro and Tim Peterson also had multiple hit games, but the day was capped off by Senior Paul Copoulos blasting a towering home run to left center. BC was rained out of the scheduled game with Waukesha South and will tentatively make that game up on Wednesday, June 18th.

Mike's Strikes, Matt's Batt
6/6 - The Lancers broke out with a much needed win on Friday evening at McCoy Park, halting a four game skid with a 7-1 victory over Tosa East. Sophomore Mike Mierow kept the Red Raiders at arms length and went the distance on the hill, scattering five hits and striking out eight in getting the win. The offensive attack was led by Junior Matt Upson, who connected for two long doubles and collected three RBI's in the contest. Mike Bogard and Tim Peterson each had two hits, while Junior Mike Rossmiller belted a double of his own. The Lancers now travel to Rockford, IL to take on Pewaukee and Waukesha South in a non-conference double-header.

Lancers' WHOA's continue
6/5 - Falls jumped on BC from the opening pitch and the Lancers could never get in the game, dropping their fourth consecutive game by a score of 10-1. The Lancers hit the ball better than the two hits would imply in the box score but could never get one to find a hole as the Falls defense was solid. BC returns to conference play tomorrow when Tosa East comes to McCoy Park.
No Hit, No Win, No Foolin'....
6/3 - On a night that Mike Bogard should be able to celebrate a stellar performance for the rest of his life, instead will be looked back on with mixed emotions. The Lancers once again found a way to lose a game by giving it away, and were not able to come up with the key hit when it mattered most. That's right, Senior captain Mike Bogard pitched a no-hitter through six innings with the only two runners reaching base on HBP's. Bogard also had the only clean hit of the game, as the Lancers lost the contest by a score of 1-0. BC will finally return home to McCoy park on Thursday when the Indians from the Falls come to town for a 5:30pm game.

Lancers Go Deep but can't go the Distance
5/31 - On a day when a driving wind was blowing out to left field, coupled with a cozy 300 foot left field fence at New Berlin West, the conditions were ripe for a slugfest. Despite the first multiple home run game for the Lancers since the playoffs in 2004, BC could not outscore the Vikings and went down 11-10. Senior captain Lee Severson rifled a no-doubter to deep left for his first of the season and added a double, while Senior captain Mike Bogard lifted a low curveball over the left center field wall for his first as well. Matt Upson had a multiple hit game and added two RBI's with a towering double to deep left center. Junior Pete Ostergaard collected four more hits in the contest and raised his team leading average to a gaudy .478. The Lancers will start a full week of conference play on Tuesday evening when BC will travel to Sussex for a 5:30pm contest.

Silenced by the Rams
5/30 - The Lancers left 14 runners stranded and squandered countless opportunities on Friday night and found themselves walking off the field with a disappointing loss. Junior Cale Ross was most impressive in his five innings of work, striking out five and giving up just one earned run. At the plate, BC pounded out nine hits with Lee Severson and Billy Nelson collecting two each, but the Lancers could never get that key hit at the plate and lost 5-4. With the loss, BC falls to 1-1 in conference play and slips back to the .500 mark at 3-3 overall.

IRON MIKE
5/29 - Senior captain Mike Bogard gutted through a gritty Brookfield East lineup for seven innings and made sure that the Lancers came out on top with a 5-4 win to open conference play. Bogy struck out four Spartans and walked three while using 119 pitches to finish out the win. At the plate, junior Pete Ostergaard compiled three hits in four trips to the plate and had two RBI's. Lee Severson stung a ringing double to left-center, and Junior Matt Upson went the other way for an RBI triple in the first. The Lancers will now travel to the south campus of MATC to take on Marquette tomorrow at 5:30pm.

Collin Complete!
5/27 - It was the home opener and the Lancers turned to Collin O'Gorman to take the hill. The freshman pitched well beyond his years, striking out three and scattering five hits while limiting the Tigers from Riverside to just two walks. O'Gorman used 103 pitches in going the distance and picked up his first varsity win! The two Senior captains Lee Severson and Mike Bogard led the attack at the plate, each going 2-4 with a triple and two RBI's. Sophomore Tim Peterson also added a triple for BC. The Lancers improved to 2-2 on the young season, and will now turn their attention to conference play when BC travels across town to take on the Spartans on Thursday.

Too Many Walks on the Wildside
5/24 - Eight walks and four errors were way too much for the Lancers to overcome on Saturday afternoon as the Suns made BC pay with a 11-5 loss. Lee Severson was two for three at the plate, and Ricky Leachy added a double and two hits as well as two RBI's. Junior Jack Moro laced a double to left-center, and Sophomore Tim Peterson was 1-2 with an RBI. After a 1-2 start to the season the Lancers will try to bounce back when they host Milwaukee Riverside on Tuesday at 5:30pm.

Leachy Fires up a Gem in the Land of Diamonds
5/24 - Junior RHP Ricky Leachy went right at the Cougars and did not yield a walk while scattered three hits for his complete game shutout on the hill. Mike Bogard continued his hot start at the plate going 2-3 with a double, while Junior Matt Gordon was a perfect 2-2 with 3 RBI's, and Leachy added a double and two hits as well. Senior Alex Cain added a triple with a line shot down the right field line.

West Side Story
5/23 - The Lancers opened their season with a tough test in the defending state champs from West Bend West. After three innings of play, BC had a 3-2 advantage, but errors and poor defense gave the Spartans too many chances and the game broke wide open and finished 13-3. The Lancers will try to rebound today with games against Campbellsport and West Bend East to finish out the tourney.
