2nd Grade     Romare Bearden Collages

Students studied and discussed the artist Romare Bearden and his collages

Students learned what the term collages meant and where it originated.

Students glued color strips to a colored background.  This creates an interesting contrast between images and background.

Students then gathered various images from magazines to glue down to the background.

Students then cut apart and glued images to create an interesting collage in the fashion of Romare Bearden.
