Empty Bowls Ice Cream Social and Literacy Night 2018

You are invited to Dixon's first...

The Miraculous Journey Through Dixon School

Empty Bowls Ice Cream Social and Literacy Night!

EMPTY BOWLS

  • Each of our Dixon students and teachers glazed a bowl.
  • Choose your child's glazed bowl and make a minimum donation of $10 which includes a bowl of ice cream and toppings. Additional bowls of ice cream are $5.
  • Take home the bowl as a reminder that many local people are hungry and homeless each day.
  • Each $10 bowl donation provides five dinners to our hungry neighbors at The Milwaukee Rescue Mission. Last year, Dixon's Empty Bowls event provided over 2600 meals to homeless men, women and children.

LITERACY NIGHT

  • An All-District Read is a community-building event in which every family and staff member in school reads the same book aloud at home for a set period of time.
  • We are especially excited to be reading the book The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane, by Kate DiCamillo.
  • We invite all families to join together and read The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane over a course of 4 weeks starting January 8, 2018.
  • Visit Empty Bowls in the cafeteria and gym. Then, take a journey through the school and celebrate Edward Tulane
  • All families will receive a book compliments of our PTO the first week in January.
