School Start Time

This is a reminder that school starts at 8:50 a.m.,  Monday through Friday.  If your child arrives at 8:51 a.m., they are marked as tardy.  Please ensure that your child arrives to school on time.  Missing the first few minutes of the school day causes undue stress on children.  Some math instruction begins promptly at 8:50 a.m. and students are missing important instructional time.

Artsonia -- Dixon's Internet Art Gallery

Did you know that Dixon has an internet art gallery?  Dixon artists currently have 750 works of art on display this year on Artsonia.com!  This web museum will house images of your child's artwork from Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. It is a wonderful way to see your child's artistic growth through their years at Dixon. If you do not have your child's username and security code, please send Mrs. Jacobson an email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .  She will gladly forward you the information.

SHOES FOR AFRICA -- A Dixon Student Council Collection

During the month of February the Dixon Student Council will be collecting shoes for needy children in Africa.

“Shoes for Africa” is a non-profit organization that provides new and gently used shoes for the people of Africa that desperately need them.  Over 20 million orphaned children are without shoes in Africa.  Without shoes, these children are unable to attend school or get a job.  It is estimated that over 1 billion pairs of unworn shoes are taking up space in U.S. basements and closets.

Please consider making a difference 2 feet at a time

by donating your gently used shoes for Africa

during the month of February.

There will be a donation barrel in the main hallway

near the health room.

Thank you for making a difference.
