Angela Malett, 5th grade teacher at Dixon Elementary, passed away on April 17, 2014, after a brief battle with cancer. Angela is survived by her husband Matthew and two children, Alexa and Andrew. Matt is a teacher at Brookfield East High School.

“The entire Elmbrook Community grieves with the Malett family,” said Superintendent Mark Hansen. “The outpouring of support from hundreds of students, parents, and staff members is a small testament to the impact Angie made over her 17-year career.”

Dixon Principal Jeanne Siegenthaler added, “Angie was always the first one to care for the needs of others, and it is difficult to lose someone who gave so much to our staff and students. We will miss her outgoing and energetic personality, leadership, and most especially her friendship.”

A memorial mass was held on Thursday, April 24th at Old St. Mary Church in Milwaukee. Memorials in honor of Angela Malett can be sent to Dixon Elementary at 2400 Pilgrim Square Drive, Brookfield, WI 53005, and will be directed to the family.
