ELMBROOK EDUCATION FOUNDATION
Celebrating 50 years of Investing in the Excellence of our Community's Public Schools!
The Elmbrook Education Foundation mission is to promote educational excellence by providing scholarships and grants to District of Elmbrook public school students and schools in the city of Brookfield and the village of Elm Grove, Wisconsin.
ABOUT US
The Foundation is a non-profit organization dependent on the time and energy of community volunteers who share a passion for the value of public education. 2008 marks the Foundation's 50th year of investing in the School District of Elmbrook and its students.
The Foundation began with the objective of supporting the District's value on continuing education by rewarding the outstanding achievements of select graduating seniors. In 1958, a group of school and community volunteers created the Lancer-Spartan Scholarship Foundation to honor High School students with a proven track record in leadership, scholarship, and a commitment to community service. The scholarship program has been expanded to include need-based scholarships and now provides support for students planning to continue their education at either a University or Technical School.
The Foundation expanded its objective to support the District's value on inspiring students and staff by developing community-wide private financial support through its grant program. In 1999, the name was changed to the Elmbrook Education & Lancer-Spartan Scholarship Foundation to reflect the new grant division of the Foundation, and in 2002, was simplified to the Elmbrook Education Foundation.
The Foundation has grown considerably in size and mission and needs the support of the entire community to fulfill its commitment to our public schools.
Why does the Elmbrook School District need an Education Foundation?
The EEF administered scholarship program has consolidated many of the scholarship programs previously provided by community partners and businesses to ensure a fair and objective process that rewards and/or supports as many graduates as possible each year while maintaining the individual selection criteria of each scholarship sponsor. The EEF administered scholarship program is truly a community based scholarship program.
All public schools are under tremendous fiscal constraints today. In a time of revenue caps and declining enrollment, the Elmbrook Education Foundation plays an important role by funding projects that the district would not otherwise have the financial resources to undertake. The EEF sponsored grant program leverages the generosity of the community to ensure that inspired Elmbrook students and staff are able to implement and share their ideas to sustain the level of excellence provided across the Elmbrook School District.
We believe that the success of the Elmbrook Education Foundation is a critical factor in maintaining Elmbrook as a school district of choice in our region.
