2012-2013 Board of Education Goals

1. Response to Intervention

  Short Term Goal: The Board of Education will develop resources and initiatives that enhance 
   student achievement including the implementation of a Response to Intervention System, 
   Curriculum Renewal and Design and an Instructional Framework.
•  Long Term Goal: The Board of Education will insure all curricula, programs and services 
   are aligned to the state standards, state assessment system and college/career readiness
   benchmarks and result in best in class among all benchmarks.

Board Indicators:
    •  Insure the establishment of a guaranteed and viable curriculum by June 2014.
    •  Monitor initiatives that close the achievement gap for subgroups in the School
       District of Elmbrook.
    •  Monitor initiatives associated with Response to Intervention (RtI).
    •  Monitor technology initiatives to support increased student achievement, greater
       access to rigorous and relevant curriculum and personalized learning.

2. Curriculum Renewal and Design

  Short Term Goal: The Board of Education will develop resources and initiatives that 
   enhance student achievement including the implementation of a Response to Intervention
   System, Curriculum Renewal and Design and an Instructional Framework.
  Long Term Goal: The Board of Education will insure all curricula, programs and services
   are aligned to the state standards, state assessment system and college/career
   readiness benchmarks and result in best in class among all benchmarks.

Board Indicators:
    •  Insure the establishment of a curriculum renewal and design policy and process that
       insures a rigorous and relevant instructional program K-12 that incorporates all
       current state standards and college/career readiness benchmarks by November of 2012.
    •  Insure the establishment of a guaranteed and viable curriculum by June 2014.

3. Instructional Framework

•  Short Term Goal: The Board of Education will develop resources and initiatives that
   enhance student achievement including the implementation of a Response to 
   Intervention System, Curriculum Renewal and Design and an Instructional Framework.
•  Long Term Goal: The Board of Education will insure all curricula, programs and 
   services are aligned to the state standards, state assessment system and college/career
   readiness benchmarks and result in best in class among all benchmarks.

       by November 2012.
    •  Monitor initiatives associated with Response to Intervention (RtI).

4. Goal Area:  Staff Capacity and Capability Strategic Goal

•  Short Term Goal: The Board of Education will insure that 100% of our eligible teachers
   and building level administrators are assessed using a performance appraisal system
   aligned to Wisconsin’s Educator Effectiveness System by May, 2013.  In addition,
   100% of eligible administrators will be assessed using a performance appraisal system.
•  Long Term Goal: The Board of Education will insure that 100% of employees in the
   School District of Elmbrook are assessed using a performance appraisal system.

Board Indicators:
    •  1 year goal: 100% of our eligible teachers and building level administrators are 
       assessed using a performance appraisal system aligned to the State’s Educator
       Effectiveness System by May, 2013.
    •  1 year goal:  100% of eligible administrators are assessed using a performance
       appraisal system. 
    •  3 year goal: 100% of SDE employees are assessed using a performance
       appraisal system.
