BCHS Seniors, Megan Moretti and Anna Sorenson have been named medalists for the Scholastic Art and Writing Competition!
Moretti has been named a National Gold Medal Winner in the Photography category for her piece On The Inside Looking Out, (below left) and will receive her award on Thursday, June 8 during the National Ceremony at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Sorenson has been named a National Silver Medal Winner in the Drawing category and also received a Milwaukee Art Museum Membership Award for her piece entitled Homer Laughlin's Village (below right). By receiving these national medals places both students in the top 1% of all submissions.
State-level Gold Key, Silver Key, and Honorable Mentions were awarded at a February 11th ceremony held at the Milwaukee Art Museum.
The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards are the most prestigious and longest-running national awards celebrating artistic teen creativity. The awards recognize students from seventh to twelfth grade and this year the winners were selected from nearly 3,500 entries.
Congratulations, Megan and Anna!
