Brookfield East and Brookfield Central Girls Swim TeamsOn November 10-11, Brookfield Central and Brookfield East Girls Swim Teams participated in the 2017 WIAA Division 1 Girls State Meet.

On November 10-11, Brookfield Central and Brookfield East Girls Swim Teams participated in the 2017 WIAA Division 1 Girls State Meet.

Brookfield East took 11th overall with 76.5 points in the championship with seven swimmers competing. Senior Leah Westcott placing sixth in the 500 Yard Freestyle, and both the 200 Medley Relay and 400 Free Relay Teams set new school records. Freshman Reilly Tiltmann had the highest finishes for the team, taking fourth place in both the 100 Yard Backstroke and 100 Yard Butterfly. Tiltmann broke the school record for the 100 Yard Backstroke and was named First Team All-State with consideration for All-American.

Brookfield Central took 12th place overall in the championship with 73 points. For individual highlights, defending champion and senior, Gwen Gustafson, placed second in the 50 Yard Freestyle, breaking the school record with a time of 23.28. She also finished third in the 100 Yard Freestyle. In the 100 Yard Breaststroke, sophomore Anna Kult placed fourth and junior Maggie Teng placed 10th. Both Gustafson and Kult received First Team All-State recognition for their individual performances. The Lancers also had a place-winning 200 Medley Relay and overall, the team exceeded pre-meet expectations to reach their 12th place finish.
