On Saturday, October 14th, Brookfield East High School dedicated the Stern Excellence Center to former BEHS Principal Gerald "Jerry" Stern. Stern worked as a coach, teacher, assistant principal and principal for over 23 years at Brookfield East.
"It was a great celebration of a person who contributed so much to the legacy of Brookfield East," said current Principal Andy Farley. "Principal Stern impacted countless students, educators, and leaders for generations and our entire community wanted to recognize him for his commitment to BEHS."
The dedication ceremony featured a welcome from Principal Farley, comments from Superintendent Dr. Mark Hansen, and a keynote speech from East alum and current Wisconsin State Senator, Leah Vukmir.
"I wish to express profound gratitude to all who chose to remember me through the dedication of the Stern Excellence Center," reflected Stern. "It is a place to share the dreams and real experiences of students' high school days, which will significantly impact the choices they make during their life's journey. It is an honor to have had the privilege of serving this outstanding school community."
