On September 5th, the School Board approved the recommended changes to the Employee Benefit Plan Design that will go into effect for the 2018 calendar year. Noteworthy changes include:

  • Elimination of Health plan with the Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) option to standardize on Health Savings Account (HSA) plan for all benefit-eligible employees. (HRA remains available for Medicare-enrolled employees.)
  • Promote healthcare consumerism by changing our Wellness Center provider and increasing out-of-pocket maximum from $2,000 (single)/$4,000 (family) to $3,000/$6,000.
  • Establish a representative Benefit Advisory Team which builds on the team's work in 2017 and will inform future recommendations.
