In November, the 8-Orange house held a penny drive. It ran for one week. In the past, students have raised money for Sunshine Adoption Agency, care packages for the troops in Iraq, mittens and gloves for after school programs, The Sojourner Family Peace Center, The Ronald McDonald House, Strain the Brain, and have sponsored many families during the winter with groceries and gifts. This year the money they raised went to the 10th Annual WSSP Toy Drive to benefit Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.

The drive consisted of four teams based on the four language arts classes in the House. Each team trying to beat the other. Hour 6 won! Pennies were positive and silver/paper were negative points. They set a goal of exceeding past collections and did it. The overall amount that the students were able to contribute was $2,176.10. The class had a party to celebrate the success as well as shopping for their donations. When they presented their gifts, the local radio station was there to interview Mrs. Werth. Way to go students!
