Light discussion regarding:
- School in Lumberton, TX that was impacted by hurricane sent a nice thank you note and pictures. Gift cards were given to students that lost their home.
- DPI school reports that PPMS significantly exceeds, which is the highest rating you can receive.
- 8 Orange held a penny war to raise money to buy toys to donate to Children's hospital. $2,200 was raised. Way to go Kim Werth and 8 orange students and staff!
- Discussion regarding complaints of bullying and protocol that is followed when such an incident is reported.
President's Report: Angela Zuniga-Meyer
- Veteran's Day celebration was a very inspiring event. Thank you to the parents that volunteered to redo the board outside the library.
- PTO insurance – not required but considering for liability protection.
- oLocated old by-laws that need to be updated.
- oNeed outside audit every year.
- oTwo signers needed on checkbook
- At staff meeting on 12/21/17 – PTO will organize refreshments for staff.
Treasurer: Natasha Broxton
- Courage retreat paid for and confirmed for the 2018-2019 school year ($1,500)
- Looking for CPA to review finances

- Passive Fundraising
- oSpartan coffee – Business department at East is selling their coffee in the Spartan Union and are reaching out to other schools to sell their coffee as well.
- §Coffee is brewed by Stone Creek
- §Sells for $15/bag and PTO would receive a portion.
- §Motion to sell coffee at PPMS – available in front office.
- oCycle bar – Nisha Gupta is looking into this opportunity
- Spirit wear - Working to have spirit wear available for purchase when incoming 6th grade families come for orientation in February.
