Fifth Grade Performs Road to the Revolution

The fifth grade class recently performed the musical, Road to the Revolution, a comedy based on the major events of the Revolutionary War.  The focus was on Betsy Ross and how she knitted and stitched everything from the first American flag to the Liberty Bell...at least in her mind!

Kindergarten Orientation Was a Hit

On Friday, May 3rd, over eighty preschool children participated in Kindergarten Orientation. They had the opportunity to meet teachers, check out the classrooms and play some games. We look forward to having them as part of our Swanson community.

Fourth Grade Happenings

Fourth graders have been studying the human body and students got their hands dirty dissecting owl pellets.  They've also been learning about the state of Wisconsin and will be visiting Pioneer Village later this month.  Fourth graders just finished researching and writing persuasive speeches and have been immersing themselves in the many themes found in literature.

Third Graders Travel the World

Third grade students at Swanson spent the month of April "traveling" through a country of their choice. Using the internet and reading informational texts, the students learned how to gather information to write a feature article about their country. On April 30th the students celebrated what they had learned by sharing their articles with family and friends. Along with their writing, the students proudly displayed multi-cultural art work and performed songs from around the world. Everyone learned "It's A Small World" after all!

Swanson Second Graders Celebrate Earth Day

Swanson second graders performed on Tuesday, April 23, in an Earth Day Program that combined their art work, poetry and songs from their music classes.
