Meet the Principal

Kristin Olson

Hello, I am Kristin Olson and I have been Principal of Tonawanda Elementary since 2015. Tonawanda is a small school with a big heart and a focus on developing a sense of belonging for all in our community!

I graduated from the University of Wisconsin- Madison in 1993 with a degree in Elementary Education and received my Administrative Degree from Northern Illinois University - DeKalb in 1999. I have 19 years of experience as an elementary school teacher and have served as an administrator for a total of six years.

At Tonawanda, students are cared for by the entire staff. Our teaching staff is dedicated to our students and the profession, they are continuous learners and implement best instructional practices. The kids at our school are the reason I love my job. Being a part of a community of engaged learners, dedicated teachers, caring staff, and supportive parents is truly remarkable. In 2016, our school was among the best in the state as measured by the Wisconsin State Report Card!

My husband, Cory, and I have two sons, Evan and Andrew. I am my sons' number one fan - watching them on the fields and on the court as they play football, basketball, and baseball. As a family, we enjoy water sports, snow skiing, and movie nights at home!

Parents and families are central to Tonawanda Elementary! Our active and passionate parent community partners with us to positively impact student learning. Parents are encouraged to join the PTO and get involved with various school and district projects, committees, and groups.

We'd love to have you come in for a school tour and welcome your family to Tonawanda!
