Congratulations to WHMS 7th grade student, Hannah Kim, as she was awarded the Gold Key Award at the 2017 Scholastic Art & Writing Program! She competed in the midwest region, under the Science Fiction/Fantasy category.

Congratulations to WHMS 7th grade student, Hannah Kim, as she was awarded the Gold Key Award at the 2017 Scholastic Art & Writing Program! She competed in the midwest region, under the Science Fiction/Fantasy category.

The Belin-Blank Center is proud to serve as the Iowa and Midwest Region-at-Large Affiliate for the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards program.

The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards program is the nation's longest-running, largest, most prestigious recognition program for creative teens.

Over the past 90 years, the Awards have recognized and encouraged artists and writers such as: Sylvia Plath, Andy Warhol, Truman Capote, Robert Redford, Tom Otterness, Zac Posen, among countless others.

All winners are invited to attend "The Belin-Blank Center Presents: A Scholastic Celebration in Three Acts" on March 11th at the University of Iowa.

Mr. Knuth shows helpfulness if you don’t know how to do something. He will put a smile on your face at any time. He’s one teacher that you can talk to about anything. He just makes the art room a fun place.
