Notice of School Board Vacancy and Solicitation of Interest to Serve as an Appointee
In January, our community experienced the tragic loss of Board Member Linda Boucher. As a result, there is currently a vacancy in the At-Large seat on the Board of Education. During a Special Board Meeting on February 19, 2025, the Board approved a Board Vacancy Appointment Process for filling the vacancy. Interested candidates are invited to submit the required forms by Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 4:30 p.m.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to the electors of the School District of Elmbrook that there is a current vacancy on the School Board in the At-Large Seat formerly held by Linda Boucher. The School Board intends to appoint a qualified elector of the District to fill the vacancy under a term of office that shall expire on April 27, 2025. The appointee would commit to participating in Board Meetings through April 27, 2025. Each meeting requires a few hours of preparation time.
The Appointment Process was approved at a Special Board of Education Meeting on February 19, 2025.
State law requires any individual who is filling a school board vacancy to be a resident and qualified elector of the school district. Accordingly, the same age, citizenship, residency and voting qualification requirements (e.g., freedom from any unpardoned felony convictions) that apply to declared candidates in school board elections apply to any potential appointee. Any appointee to the Elmbrook School Board must be legally qualified for the position by being an eligible elector of the School District of Elmbrook. They must be a citizen of the United States, be 18 years of age or older, and be a resident of the School District of Elmbrook for at least 28 consecutive days at the time of their appointment.
Any eligible person who desires to be considered for appointment to this public office must complete and file the following documents:
To ensure consideration as a potential appointee, the application and a scanned copy of the notarized Declaration of Eligibility must be received by Thursday, March 6, 2025 at 4:30 p.m. to Christy Westfall via email at westfalc@elmbrookschools.org and the original, notarized Declaration of Eligibility must be completed and received at the District Office (3555 North Calhoun Road, Brookfield, WI 53005) on or before the date of the Board meeting at which the Board considers the potential appointees.
It is the sole responsibility of the individual who is submitting the materials to verify that the District has received the materials on a timely basis.
