Alumni Spotlight: Bradley Bartelt
Bradley

Brookfield Central Class of 2015

Bradley Bartelt is a 2015 Lancer graduate who works at the world’s largest asset manager, BlackRock, and continues to give back to the club that shaped him during his time at Central - Key Club.

Bradley’s Elmbrook education took him from Brookfield Elementary to Wisconsin Hills Middle School and finally Brookfield Central. While at BC, he served as Co-President and District Governor for Key Club, participated in Varsity Tennis, DECA, SADD, National Honor Society, SMART, Student Council, and helped found Peer Helpers - a student-led network of mental health advocates in Elmbrook. “Elmbrook’s rigorous curriculum options, ever-expanding extracurricular offerings, and dedicated educators provide a best-in-class offering to students,” reflected Bartelt. “Elmbrook continues to listen to alumni, preparing students for higher education and the ever-changing workplace.”

Bartelt praised several staff members that left a lasting impact on his life and educational pursuits. He thanked the late Dave Steinbach, who coached both Bradley and his father, and praised the incredible heights his inclusive tennis program reached through his over 30-year career. “Megan Fisher continues to push the boundaries of business curriculum and creates amazing opportunities for students to build real-world skills,” reflected Bartelt. He also recognized Ronn Blaha for constantly giving back and making the Elmbrook community a better place, and Principal Brett Gruetzmacher for not only his passion in leading BC but for taking the time to learn students’ names and hear their stories.

Through BC’s community mentorship program, Bradley secured an internship at a local cloud software development firm, Centare, and continued to leverage the program to gain professional experiences at both the Mandel Group and WaterStone Bank.

Following his graduation from Central in 2015, Bradley attended the University of Michigan (UM) - Ann Arbor’s Ross School of Business where he was involved as DECA President, Vice President of both the Mobility Club and Sigma Pi Fraternity, and in the Investment Club. During his time at UM, Bradley interned at Goldman Sachs in their Investment Management, Private Wealth Management, and Executive Financial Counseling divisions.

Upon graduating with his Bachelors in Business Administration in 2019, Bradley joined Workato, an Enterprise Automation Platform based in Silicon Valley, as the first hire to their Finance team. At Workato, Bradley managed the expansion into EMEA and helped secure a $70 Million Series C investment round in November 2019. To date, Workato has announced an additional $300 Million in investments at a $5.7 Billion Valuation.

Bradley currently works at BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager. Bradley is a part of the Client Services Team for Aladdin, BlackRock’s end-to-end investment management technology used by institutional investors including asset managers, pension funds, insurers, corporate treasurers, and the Federal Reserve. At BlackRock, Bradley also serves as a Board Member for the firm's LGBTQ+ Employee Network and Financial Inclusion efforts. In his free time, he has been an active volunteer with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) where he works on Digital Inclusion and Economic Empowerment. The IRC is focused on helping those in crisis meet immediate needs in order to build a brighter future. Despite all of his commitments, Bradley also continues to give back to Brookfield Central which allows him to continue his positive impact on the greater Elmbrook Schools’ community.

“My commitment is to building a better world through business,” he stated. “Business leaders hold significant influence on the way resources are allocated. I believe that bringing more diverse voices to those conversations will have a positive impact on generations to come.” Bradley currently lives in San Francisco, California and is marrying his partner Jack this September.
