Brookfield Central freshman Josh Wang was recently awarded the gold medal at the International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) as a member of Team Canada! The event was hosted virtually by the United Arab Emeriates and brought together over the top 300 science students (ages 15 and younger) from around the globe to compete in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology tests.
After competing from December 12-18, Wang was awarded the gold medal as one of the top 10% of competitors in the event. Josh was also the only gold medal winner from North America! “I’m very honored to have been involved in this event and would like to thank John Wilkinson, Brookfield Central Physics Teacher, and Elizabeth Mallegni, Elmbrook’s Gifted and Talented Coordinator, for all of their help and support,” reflected Wang.
