In August 2021, Brookfield Central Senior Cynthia Lu competed virtually in the Distinguished Young Women (DYW) of Wisconsin scholarship program and was named DYW of WI 2022! In an unprecedented accomplishment, Cynthia earned scholarship awards in all five categories of the competition: Scholastics, Interview, Fitness, Talent, and Self Expression.
Cynthia will represent both Brookfield and the state of Wisconsin at the National Finals in Mobile, Alabama in June 2022. Additionally, Jane Atkinson (BEHS '22) represented Elm Grove at the state competition, earning awards in scholastics and talent and was also named 1st alternate. Both girls earned cash scholarship awards for post-graduation use.
