Brookfield Central is the proud recipient of the 2018 Region IV Spirit of Excellence Award. The Spirit of Excellence program "honors Wisconsin schools that achieve excellence in leadership development, school spirit, sportsmanship and service to the community." To be eligible, school must submit a portfolio demonstrating achievement in each of the aforementioned domains.

At the Milwaukee Bucks game on March 10, 2018, the Brookfield Central Student Council was formally recognized during halftime for their work in putting the portfolio together. While Student Council is honored by this award, this is a whole school accomplishment Thank you to many amazing coaches and advisors for their leadership and to the countless BC students for their commitment and dedication to their clubs and organizations! The names of each of the students who worked on the portfolio are on each cover page. In addition, Senior Rachel Brunner was responsible for coordinating and facilitating the creation of the portfolio, and Junior Mary Ellen Ritter was instrumental in its layout and design.
