Aaron LiuOn May 19, Brookfield Central Sophomore Aaron Liu was named the 2021 winner of the U.S. Speedskating Athlete Advisory Council (AAC) Dedication To Sport Award! Aaron accepted his award virtually in front of the U.S. Speedskating Congress, and received the award on behalf of his efforts to build the Elmbrook Speedskating Club which is currently the only school district speedskating club in the United States. 

The purpose of this award is to recognize a Speedskating athlete who has shown dedication to the growth and betterment of the sport as a whole. Aaron worked with both high school Associate Principals for Athletics & Activities, Don Kurth (BCHS) and Ben Westphal (BEHS) to establish the program.

"I am so honored to have my passion and effort to create the Elmbrook Speedskating Club recognized by the U.S. Speedskating AAC," said Liu. "I would like to thank my coaches, the Elmbrook Schools staff, Don Kurth, Ben Westphal, my family, and my mentors for providing me with inspiration and supporting my efforts."
