East & Central Host Annual Gold Out Football Game for Childhood Cancer

On Friday, September 17, Brookfield Central and Brookfield East joined forces for the eighth annual Gold Out game in recognition of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

“Year after year our schools step up for this amazing cause and I am constantly amazed at their efforts,” said Ronn Blaha, BC Key Club Advisor. “Thank you to everyone that makes this fundraiser a tremendous success each year to provide support for those impacted by childhood cancer.”

The Elmbrook community came together at the Brookfield Central v Brookfield East football game dressed in gold to show support of Childhood Cancer Research. Earlier in the week, both schools' Key Clubs raised a total of over $3,000 to benefit The Little Warrior Foundation, which helps fund grants to researchers and institutions developing high-potential therapies for pediatric applications. Brookfield Central students and cancer survivors Kaitlyn McCardle and Megan Schatz spoke at the game about their brave fights against cancer.

Thank you to everyone that contributed to this great cause.
