Gold out studentsOn Friday, October 4, Brookfield Central and Brookfield East joined forces for the seventh annual Gold Out in recognition of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

During the week of September 30, both schools' Key Clubs raised a total of over $5,000 to benefit The MACC Fund and Hunt of a Lifetime. The Elmbrook community came together at the Brookfield Central v Brookfield East football game dressed in gold to show support of Childhood Cancer Research. Brookfield Central students and cancer survivors Maggie Conlon and Katie McCardle spoke at the game about their brave fights against cancer.

In addition, numerous students donated eight or more inches of hair to Roots Hair Salon for the Cut-a-Thon to help make wigs for children impacted by cancer treatment.
