The Brookfield East Spartan Football Team captured its second state title in four years, narrowly defeating Waunakee 31-30 in the Division 2 State Championship game at Camp Randall in Madison on Friday, November 22. The team finished its season with a 12-2 record.

Senior Sam McGath opened the game with a 44-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, followed by three first-half touchdowns by senior Donavan Hunt and a 23-yard field goal by Joey Prondzinski to secure the victory. "The team faced several adverse situations throughout the game and they never flinched," said Head Coach Ben Farley. "Their performance is a testament to their character and I am so unbelievably proud of them and what they were able to accomplish this year."

Congratulations to all the players, as well as Coach Farley and his entire football staff on another unbelievable season. This year's championship is the second in school history following the 2016 State Championship in Coach Farley's first year as head coach.
