Brookfield Central Junior, Tania Mishra has been named a 2021 National Center for Women and Information Technology (NCWIT) Aspirations in Computing (AiC) National Winner. Mishra is one of only 40 winners from across 46 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, and all U.S. overseas military bases. Tania will be honored at a virtual award ceremony on May 16 held by NCWIT-WI.

Additionally, Brookfield East Senior Rucheng Pan was one of only 360 students to receive an honorable mention. Both girls were selected from a total of 4,288 talented applicants.

The organization recognizes high school students in grades 9 through 12 who self-identify as women, genderqueer, or non-binary for their computing-related achievements and interests as part of an effort to encourage more young women to choose careers in technology.

Congratulations to both Tania and Rucheng! (pictured below L to R: Tania, Rucheng)
