Middle-grade author duo MarcyKate Connolly and Dan Haring visited Brookfield Elementary on September 17. Connolly and Haring spoke to over 200 fourth and fifth graders about their co-authored book, The Star Shepherd, which was released on September 10.

The Star Shepherd is a middle-grade fantasy novel that explores the story of a boy that rescues falling stars. Connolly and Haring talked to students about the importance of telling their own stories and everyone sharing his or her own unique perspective. Connolly is a popular author of numerous children's fantasy books including, Monstrous. Haring is the author of Oldsoul and is an animator with film credits on Disney's Tangled, The Lion King 3D, and more. You can view his animated trailer for their book here.
