Dear Fourth and Fifth Graders,

Do you have an interest in maps, current events, people, and places? Do you enjoy learning about the world? If so, you should consider competing in the Brookfield Elementary Geography Bee!

Each year thousands of schools, grades 4 to 8, participate in the National Geographic Bee.  http://www.nationalgeographic.com/geobee/.  This contest is designed to spark student interest in the subject and increase awareness about the world around us.

Timeline

Jan. 16th, 2019: Preliminary Competition 8:00-8:40 am

    • Determines which students will advance to the final competition of the school Bee.

    • Seven preliminary rounds of 35 questions each

    • Top 10 highest scoring students will advance to the Final Competition

 

Jan. 23rd, 2019:  Final Competition/ Championship Round 8:00-8:40 am

    • Top 10 students from the Preliminary Competition will compete

    • Students will be eliminated after answering two questions incorrectly

    • Final two students will compete in the Championship Round to determine one student who will take the online qualifying test to compete for advancement to the state Bee.

 

The school champion must complete the online qualifying test by February 1st, 2019
