The Corners of Brookfield, Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin - 2023

The Corners of Brookfield and Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin are the recipients of the District's 2023 Excellence in a Community Partnership award! This award will be presented as part of the Engaged in Excellence Awards celebration on Monday, May 1, at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center.

The Corners is an outstanding Community Partner because of its close partnership with the Elmbrook Education Foundation (EEF) in support of both fundraising and recognition efforts. This year, The Corners has contributed thousands of dollars to the Foundation, in addition to hosting and promoting EEF fundraising events and rallying support from its businesses. Additionally, The Corners’ support of ‘Thank You Thursdays’ helped celebrate the outstanding work of staff across the District this past winter.

Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin is an outstanding Community Partner for its work with Elmbrook’s LAUNCH program. This year, Froedtert and The Medical College of Wisconsin’s staff members have volunteered hundreds of hours to LAUNCH, serving as mentors (23 individuals) and sponsoring 22 projects in the healthcare strand. Because of its support, students have been given the opportunity to explore career interests and work on real-world healthcare problems and challenges, while building professional skills and relationships.

Congratulations and thank you to The Corners of Brookfield and Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin for your tremendous partnership and amazing service to our students, educators, and community.

A PHILANTHROPIC STORY

Margaret Moore: A PHILANTHROPIST AND HER LEGACY

Margaret Moore has been giving her entire life. In 1963, she became the first school board president of this newly established school district, Elmbrook. She and her husband, John, were always strong believers in enriching and improving the lives of students. After finishing her work as the president of the school board, she stayed connected to the district. 50 years later, she made a decision that once again changed the district. You see, Margaret is a repayer. She openly talked about how much the district did for her and her three children. She wanted to make a difference so she took the bold step to be the first person to donate to a fledgling program that will provide students with a variety of career-based learning experiences that add even more value to the student's academic experience.

Margaret made a generous gift to LAUNCH@Innovation Collaboratory for the School District of Elmbrook. Margaret's legacy will be held dearly at the Innovation Collaboratory because this will be a location where students will experience a variety of career-based challenges, speaker seminars and industry stories which will inspire students to improve, grow, and make a difference within Elmbrook and the world.

Margaret made a donation to the development of LAUNCH@the Innovation Collaboratory. Margaret's donation is a gift that will continue to grow and help students for many years to come. No matter what your wealth, anyone can be a philanthropist like Margaret Moore.

We look forward to welcoming Margaret and Doug Moore to take a tour of the LAUNCH facilities.
