The Corners of Brookfield, Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin - 2023

The Corners of Brookfield and Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin are the recipients of the District's 2023 Excellence in a Community Partnership award! This award will be presented as part of the Engaged in Excellence Awards celebration on Monday, May 1, at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center.

The Corners is an outstanding Community Partner because of its close partnership with the Elmbrook Education Foundation (EEF) in support of both fundraising and recognition efforts. This year, The Corners has contributed thousands of dollars to the Foundation, in addition to hosting and promoting EEF fundraising events and rallying support from its businesses. Additionally, The Corners’ support of ‘Thank You Thursdays’ helped celebrate the outstanding work of staff across the District this past winter.

Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin is an outstanding Community Partner for its work with Elmbrook’s LAUNCH program. This year, Froedtert and The Medical College of Wisconsin’s staff members have volunteered hundreds of hours to LAUNCH, serving as mentors (23 individuals) and sponsoring 22 projects in the healthcare strand. Because of its support, students have been given the opportunity to explore career interests and work on real-world healthcare problems and challenges, while building professional skills and relationships.

Congratulations and thank you to The Corners of Brookfield and Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin for your tremendous partnership and amazing service to our students, educators, and community.

Global Business Student Update

The students in Global Business are currently working hard on their first Business Challenge. 29 students are working in 9 teams on challenges from Metal Era, Ameriprise, United Heartland, GE Healthcare, Harley Davidson, Moore Construction, the Medical College of Wisconsin, Concurrency, and the Elmbrook School District. Now in about our third week of work on these projects, student groups have met with representatives from their companies, engaged in various kinds of research, and defined problem statements with their sponsors. Now it's on to providing great solutions for the clients. Just before Thanksgiving, our students were fortunate to be able to hear Vivek Bhatt, the chief technology officer for GE Healthcare, speak on the future of digitalization in business. Students were able to engage with some truly thought-provoking concepts about their futures. On November 28th, a number of our students will travel to Wisconsin Hills Middle School to provide students there with feedback on LAUNCH-type projects the kids there have been pursuing. Busy times in Global Business!
